Unless you're talking about the upscaled files that the other anon did, then yeah, it's a waste of storage space. Just convert them to .wav then either .ogg or mid-rate VBR mp3 and call it a day, no need for bitrate that isn't actually there. You can get away with less than a gig, a little more if looped twice.

Yeah, that's definitely consistent with what I saw in most of the demo plays, but at least one anon doubted it and said it wouldn't make it into the final game.
This game is going to be an absolute shitshow if they don't fix that issue posthaste. All you would need to exploit that is either someone good at ledgeguarding, or anyone who can shoot projectiles. Then those are the only characters you would see people playing as, online for whoever the fuck is buying the game, paying for a subscription, and willing to deal with the fact that Nintenshit didn't fix anything with their shitty online since launch or offline. It would all become just a challenge to see who can stay on a platform longer.

You do want to be careful with the jig, once a firmware is installed and autoRCM is enabled on the NAND, you don't need it as much (or at all depending on what you do with it) anymore;
But if you ground the wrong pins, you will fry your switch;

Yeah, you can turn off RCM, but telemetry is fucky, so we don't know 100% about what get's tracked after code is injected into the stack;
Also you have to understand once autoRCM is enabled, your switch is now like a jail broken Ipad, you need to connect it to either your phone, or computer, and inject the code each time to boot into cfw, it's easy though, and you can turn off autoRCM anytime.
Though, I ain't spooked mainly because I have like, 3 switches, all homebrewable, so your milage may vary.

Well, I've been playing the game and in order to unlock the characters I've had to grind away a bit in spirits mode, I can sometimes unlock a character or two in the normal smash mode.

Since some people are already disappointed about Smash Ultimate due to censorship, low amount of newcomers, changes in fighting mechanics, etc., let's talk Smash 6. Smash 6 is probably going to be a soft reboot given the possible endings to World of Light. A reboot gives an opportunity to add a lot newcomers. What newcomer to veteran ratio would you like to see? My preferred is 60-40 in favor of veterans but I wouldn't mind if it was flipped the other way around to favor newcomers. I think there should be 50-70 base characters with 5-6 DLC characters.

I like the idea of going in an entirely new direction in terms of newcomers, but that raises an issue. Who would they bring in? They already brought in a lot of recognizable Nintendo icons and major third party characters with this game so who could they bring in to replace them? In regards to the roster, I'd say that they shouldn't put more than 50 characters in the game, period. First 20 slots are filled with the characters present in 4 of the past 5 games (DK, Ness, Captain Falcon, Marth, Game & Watch, Kirby, Samus, Jigglypuff, Pikachu, Falco, Fox, Bowser, Luigi, Mario, Peach, Ganondorf, Link, Sheik, Zelda, Yoshi) , 5-10 slots are filled with veteran "fan favorite" characters, and the remaining 20-25 slots are filled with completely new characters. No more than 5 characters representing 1 series (The addition of 3 spin-off characters, making it 8 characters, is as far as it will be bent). Only 5 third-party characters allowed at all.

At this point, they have zero choice but to remove fan favorites considering how they just more or less reached the ceiling regarding the existing roster (especially regarding the third parties), so just go all in and ignore the people complaining about shit like how Cloud won't be in the next game, ignoring how Square Enix are being complete kikes about him. Some of these "favorites" such as Marth and Lucas started off as literally whos in the west, so just go for it.
Some ideas that I got tossing around (ideas being the key word) are Gharnef (I'm rather fond of mages), Unbound Hoopa (can probably do some cool stuff with his portals in addition to being a hard hitting tank), Weavel (I really like the idea of the halfturret and the potential pros and cons it could provide), the Dark Matter Swordsman (nice move variety and a Kirby character who isn't Meta Knight, Dedede, or Bandana Waddle Dee), and while people have been pushing Spring man as the Arms guy, I feel like Helix would be more interesting if an Arms character were to be put in due to potential movement options and a more interesting selection of standard Arms as well. The only things I think other titles had done way better are rather trivial, for example, while the roster in Melee is very functional and most playstyles are presented, Brawl has just the best in terms of variety and didn't go full on clones like Melee; the stage hazards in Melee were mostly just shit that makes you go flying while Brawl and Wii U greatly expanded on the concept; items in Ultimate seem to be a direct upgrade, which is the only thing that each game has done better and better; balance in Melee is terrible, 64 is the worst and it manages to be just lower of Brawl-sans-Meta Knight; it's also the least consistent game of the series since you get tons of ghost hits and sometimes you live or die by pure circumstance; hitboxes and hurtboxes make no fucking sense, Peach can decimate shields with a move that just doesn't look like it and Jigglypuff has some insane shit going on; it's less moddable than Brawl
And it still makes me wanna play it all the time over the other games.

64 is really great at setting the story, because ultimately all smash games should be about an autistic child playing with toys and none of this surrealist shit that Sakurai is bringing in.
But melee's intro is just magical, pre-rendered cutscenes should make a come back. It just set the tone for the whole game, made everything feel much more important and every character was made to feel as if they were part of a shared universe. 64 went straight to the point and made every character look cool but more in a practical way than in a flash, Melee way. Brawl and Ultimate are shit, they just show a billion things instead of concentrating on what makes the games fun, which isn't the content but the base game.

I approve, it would especially be great if it had branching paths so you wouldn't have to go through the same selection over and over again.

just tested lvl 9 marth on cemu vs lvl9 marth on smash ultimate and I have come to the conclusion that the AI is significantly less powerful now. They do more off-stage techniques, which is nice, but also more retarded shit and weird moves (doing a full side-special combo when not even near me) in general which I guess looks more similar to how humans play, maybe. They leave themselves open much more frequently and don't always take their window of attack, so that's kind of disappointing
