As things go, the video gaming scene have taken a clear stance about the anti-gacha/lootbox law that popped out in Belgium and Netherlands. And their stance is clear - "These countries doesn't exist anymore for our games".
Outside of few games (to name them, the Dragon Ball gacha game Dokkan Battle, as well as Blizzard's Heartstone), who take the sensible approach and simply block microtransactions and/or offer free alternatives, most companies simply take the easy way out, block Belgian and Dutch players, and increase their costs to compensate for the lost money "caused by the evil Belgian laws".
The most recent company to join the fray is Square Enix, who decided in a simple move to purge Belgian players from his most popular mobile franchises, Mobius Final Fantasy (both Steam and mobile versions) and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (quite impactful as this game was planned years ago to actually be Final Fantasy XVI, hence the Exvius who has no meaning outside of hiding the number).
Any other recent cases you noticed ? Any other games impacted by that ?
