Still play this shit with friends once in a while. It's good fun if your company's enjoyable, but it's only tolerable in small sitting imo.
We usually play this for like an hour or two and then get burned out. If you want to have fun, make sure to download some extra shit like maps and weapons. Otherwise, it can get a bit stale.

That map is overplayed ass cancer. There are hundreds of good and underplayed maps, but crap like that is the only one with any players 24/7. I finally convinced a group to try a good map like lost_temple instead of yet another shitty minecraft map for the billionth time. The fucking normalfag cattle were so braindead they immediately began complaining about being "lost" and something new was so uncomfortable for their tiny NPC brains. My favorite map is the moon base one, but it is hardly ever played.

Why are British people so bad at TTT? I swear to god every single person who plays this game with a British accent camps in one corner and plays with props until the timer runs down even if they are T. Whenever the traitor starts shooting, they will run away and then kill a fellow innocent in confusion. TTT had interesting locations and perfect settings for "who dunit" or other murder mystery shit. The entire source engine catalog + its own maps. It really shook things up. Too bad people only play fucking 24/7 minecraft now. You could fuck with peoples brains to.
The cons are obvious. It requires intelligent players.

1) Remove strict as fuck rules like RDM. Let people go with their gut feeling and brains. Have heavy handed bans for people just being assholes.
2) Get more map variety, so people don't get comfortable with the same habits and play like bots
3) Add more shit to encourage detective work. Remove stupid mods like Jihad, which completely removes the mystery part because the dude suicide bombed so there's no mystery
4) Make it harder to cover shit up/insta-win. Traitor testers should have high risk/high reward, traitors shouldn't be able to throw bodies off the map.
5) Make it harder for Traitors to rampage the map. The RDM rule is a huge contributor to this, since everyone hesitates to not RDM even though they know this persons about to kill them and let the Traitor shotgun their face off.

We should start a /v/ TTT server. The only bannable offenses would be running the timer down as T without killing anyone, being a squeaker, or RDMing the entire server. As for other instances of RDM, the punishments will be light. First a warning, then a slap for 25 damage the next time and so forth. And everyone's warnings get reset each week.

May I offer a sugestion? In ye old servers, bans were pretty rare. For two reasons: most people know how to dodge them and they don't really accomplish what they should fix: your playerbase. Contrast with a kick. A kick looks like a "softer" ban, but it had the effect of the player rejoining, and everyone knowing he was punished. The whole playerbase learned something from that event instead of a random player quickly vanishing.
I'm pretty sure most of /v/ is old enough to remember when people did "ban-worthy" things in CS 1.6. You only got a Vac ban with blatant cheats. Team killing/stalling/assorted asshattery was not handled with bans.
You had creative shit like:
>Player A was buried halfway into the ground, unable to shootback. Others can come mock him and shoot him in the head. Lasts one or more rounds.
>Player B is can buy weapons but not ammo. Enjoy your 30 round AK!
>Player C was perma flashbanged
>Player D was unable to injure enemies.

Depends if there's karma enabled. You eventually get kicked if it's too low.
For those who don't know: The game has a karma system and the more you damage innocent players as innocent the lower your karma is. Karma lowers your damage output. It goes from 0-1000. So if you RDM constantly and have 200 karma a shotgun blast to the skull will be equivalent to pistol shot to the foot.

TTT could be improved if it wasn't stuck on Garry's abandoned version of Source 1. That game was clunky enough with default maps and weapons, let alone the extra weeb models and joke crap thrown in.
