The only thing better than Fall weather this time of year is the compulsion for devs to add limited-time, themed events to their vidya. Whether they aim for comfy or spooks, it's nice to see a little Halloween flair in games that may or may not be appropriate for it.
To that end I say we have a thread cataloguing the various Halloween events that are taking place this year since they are somewhat numerous and hard to keep track of. I'll start by listing a few I know of:
Dead by Daylight
October 19th
Players must fill a vial with special nectar to unlock plant-themed costumes. Survivors must gather the nectar from cankers while killers gather it by hooking the survivors on event-specific hooks.
LET IT DIE
Right fuckin' now
Collect Jack-o-lantern style mushrooms that replenish your rage meter and complete quests involving their collection. Pretty low-key from what I have seen so far.
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Right fuckin' now
Halloween update allows you to purchase new Halloween-themed titles, stickers, lobby outfits and character colors at the capsule shop (with in-game currency of course). Also low-key but the lobby costumes are pretty neat and the orange/purple character colors work well on some fighters.
Splatoon 2
October 19th
Basically just a splatfest between trick and treat but with the possibility to earn 4 unique headwear items that you'll get to keep. Of course Inkopolis will be spooked up a bit to stay festive.
As you can see from this gaming shitlist I'm having trouble finding interesting events this year so I was hoping you guys could post the ones you are looking forward to or are currently enjoying. Please help, Halloween events are the thing I look forward to most every year to give me a brief reprieve from this trash fire of a generation.
