Hello my fellow Redditors xD, Just played the demo and oh boy is this game is a lazy reskin. I typically love Yakuza games and was looking forward to this. Unfortunately, nothing about Lost paradise was appealing form a gameplay perspective. Not a massive FotNS fan, or a huge fan of Shonen in general so maybe this wasn't for me. However, I was certain that Lost Paradise was going to be fun before playing it.

Unless this demo is misleading I guess people are going to be in for a massive disappointment. The fighting is mediocre particularly for a Yakuza clone and the QTE finishers are bland with no meaningful distinction between successful finishers and failing to hit a button prompt. The worst offender is the Buggy racing. Absolute trash in context of how much potential the game could have considering its pedigree. Unless you are a huge fanboy of FotNS I guess this is going into the bargain bin.

If there was already a thread about this I didn't see it.

Well, the demo does have combat, and combat would presumably be the selling point of a game based on a Shonen. The combat in the demo was garbage.

Well yeah, at first it is. but it gets much better as you upgrade Kenshiro. I'm pretty sure they give you more green orbs in the beginning just to do that. Also get the upgrade that gives you two finishers, makes combat much more fun.

i just bought this game full price as a midnight launch thing. assassin's creed came out today for the normalfags and they had a midnight launch for that and i grabbed this instead.

it's so bad i wish i could get my money back. they completely shit on everything hokuto no ken stands for. THE VERY FIRST MINUTES OF THE GAME IS A FETCH QUEST.

the very first boss is devil reverse, renamed to devil rebirth which is dumb. anyway, they turned the devil reverse into an angry violent gorilla. the whole point of devil reverse, the whole reason he's scary, is because he's a lumbering, slow, passive, brainless guy that acts like a kid, while harboring the most terrifying martial art of all time.

every piece of dialogue is dumbed down exposition of shit fans already know for the dumb dumbs that haven't watched the anime. shin just stood there for 10 minutes repeating the plot back to kenshiro like a retard.

kenshiro himself suffers the same fate as devil reverse. he went from a silent protag that spoke with action and had lin and bat do the talking, to an egomaniac faggot that never shuts the fuck up. kenshiro never stops talking. they made him pretentious. the messiah complex ken has isn't charming anymore when you make him aware of it and constantly talking about it.

the little bits of story that are originals coming from yakuza team would have been written better by literally a completely random person from the street.

i would suggest you just skip the cutscenes but a lot of them are unskippable and the gameplay is shit too anyway.

the music makes me want to kill myself. generic film soundtrack.

i'm fucking mad. i don't know why buronson and tetsuo hara are so eager to whore their franchise out. fuck my life

You cant learn new skills in the demo.

It isn't representative of the full game, because there's a lot of skills in different trees to learn, just like Yakuza games. I take it you haven't played one of those.

And Shin doesn't actually kill himself with his own move, he jumps off a building before kenshiro's jutsu can kill him.

The same thing happens in the game. Shin doesn't just let Ken punch the shit out of him, he loses the fight.

Just clocked in 10 hours. Honestly it gets a bit too easy once you get the two aerial moves out of burst mode, you just completely stomp everyone and you can charge the 7 stars bar instantly by just doing a just frame channeling kill.
