But Stardew Valley also has combat, dating sim of sorts, and crafting. It isn't any different to RF4 except RF4 actually pull all those aspects in a good direction. So seeing how there are 2 of those games plus elements of Harvest Moon, I don't see why it can't just fit with Harvest Moon with extra elements. This isn't "Metroidvania" bullshit again.

Threadly reminder to disregard all modern games that come out under the name "Harvest Moon".

What we in the west know as Harvest Moon was a series in japan with a name that translates to "Story of Season". However, the copyright for the name "Harvest Moon" has always belonged to Natsume, and not the people who actually made the games. So a few years ago Natsume had the bright idea to ditch the people who have been making the Harvest Moon games and instead work on developing them by themselves. The product games which are a horrible mess on almost all levels. However, the people who made the games that you loved as a kid still make games, but nowadays they release them under the name "Story of Seasons" in the west.

TL;DR If you want to play the real modern Harvest Moon games play Story of Seasons, they are great games

In elona, you can take up jobs such as sowing seeds for a farmer, however, the difficulty of the job you receive is randomly determined. This means that you can, and for a new player the bellcurve is way beyond their ability, get a job that is stupidly hard and that because working is an automated task, will end up exhausting yourself and passing out while working. Getting stoned to death while playing piano is another similar situation.

If you had actually been playing the games, you'd know that the Harvest Moon series has been in the gutter for at least a decade and the current team at Marvelous that was shitting the games out every six months didn't have a clue what they were doing. None of this magically changed by calling it Story of Seasons now.

And this is quite a dubious statement, due to developer attrition I kind of doubt much of if anyone at all still worked at Marvelous who were involved with the better games in the series. As another fun fact, two of the games (in my opinion entirely unjustifiably) often regarded as two of the best in the series weren't even developed by Marvelous; Back to Nature and Friends of Mineral Town were both outsourced to Japan's infamous stealth developer, TOSE.

Oh thank you for these informations, I genuinly didn't know that part about Back to Nature and FoMT being outsourced. And yeah, newer Harvest Moon games had pretty big design flaws compared to FoTM and never lived up to the expectations, but at least you could tell that they were made by people who tried to make a good game with new ideas. Wind Bazar and Tales of two towns come to mind, in my opinion their concepts were interesting but poorly executed. Now, compared to the things Natsune has shat out recently these two are masterpieces. They are just unbelievably bad

But playing Story of Seasons a few years ago has really rekindled my faith in the series, it was a really good game. I can't vouch for the newest Story of Seasons game, but I haven't heard anything bad about it yet.
