I don't expect anyone to believe me, but In 2001 I was a part of the friends and family testing for Bethesda and got to play an early version of Morrowind, in which case Jiub could actually be a companion (and potentially other characters). The goal was a fully fleshed out companion system with gear trading, orders and character development as the story progressed. Ultimately the companion system had problems particularly with pathing and AI and wasn't considered good enough to be a major part of the game (and they were strapped for time at this point) so it was taken out early on, but a much lesser version of the idea was added later in the Mournhold expansion for mercenaries.
So, technically, my answer would be Jiub.
