Who else prefer lean and peek over contextual/one button cover system in FPS?

You don't need to be close to an object the game recognizes as cover to use it. Anything that is between you and your target that can stop a bullet is a cover. And you can actually minimize your exposure while shooting to a point that only your head and your gun are visible.

Everyone who legitimately likes video games. Any game that uses buttons to perform a complex action like "get behind cover" or "vault over obstacle" is streamlining too much. Controls should be limited to the movement of the player's avatar.

Context-sensitive ANYTHING is a fucking cancer on video games.

Leaning is fucking stupid in many games and encourages being a bitch, it makes no god damn sense in a shooter where you can hop around and move fast and only 'works' in slow, braindead and muh thinking map 'knowledge' tacticool retard games.

While dedicated leaning buttons can avoid a lot of frustration due to non-recognized cover and such, they also are a lot clunkier in practice: they require two keys to be bound, ideally in an easy to access area, and they often need to be pressed twice in quick succession to peek out of cover.

Simply leaning out of cover while aiming is much more convenient and enjoyable in single player games, at least in my opinion.

Contextulized button prompts only exist due to controller limitations.

You're preaching to the choir, OP.

Any game with lean mechanics is clunky as shit. No exceptions. It either barely improves on your body not being exposed, or it allows anyone to spam left/right lean their hitboxes to dodge shit while shooting each other like they're in the fucking Matrix in a low tick server.

This. That gay cover shit is for faggots.

Not only is lean superior, I can't get much more erect when it takes mouse input instead of a hard on/off set of keys.

Being a faggot I understand why you have no shame for being bad at video games. Still, I'm here to call you a whinging faggot.

I played more FPS with leaning than you've played games at all, Suzy.

e9db6d  No.15529430

2 button lean is is clunky because collision

contextual autolean is anti-user because it removes player control

just don't add lean, let the player understand their own hitbox and teach them how to crouch.
