So i watched one of those 'blank: the movie' videos on youtube to see what the story of the new Destiny expansion was, just to satisfy curiosity as someone that fell for the ten year meme back with the first games initial release, and i noticed something happens once that i love but is so rare.

>Unrelated to fight ever so often lightning illuminates the clouds showing floating rocks and shit right out of dishonoured

>And some giant mass of tentacles reaching slowly to the sky extremely far away but so huge it looks close

>Know i've seen it in movies like Hellboy with the Ogdru Jahad, know i've also seen it in games but can't name too many times off by heart.

Theres more obvious older examples like all the blink and miss it G man run ins in Half Life but boy do i love the "we never focus on this but if the player notices its some crazy shit" stuff artists put in the backgrounds of gameplay.

One of the very few things BotW did right, some of the enemy interactions. If you hide and look at enemy camps, you can see them living their lives out and it's quite cute.

I like really well done sound design. Where the sound effects for everything not only sound great and realistic, but are at appropriate volume. So I guy can be screaming and his voice will be louder than foot steps, but if an explosion happens, that will drown out of voice ect. Or on the other side of that, if its really quite, you will just hear ambient wind and footsteps. Call of Duty 2 was really good at this and so were the battlefield games

I hate it when all you can hear is the generic score drowning out a giant explosion, or its just these wimpy sound effects, or when the sound effects sound too unrealistic. The newest mortal kombat is bad at this. It gets a lot of sound shit right, but a lot of the gory moves sound like someone just messing with slime and not at all what someone getting their guts ripped out would sound like.
