While they didn't change the model, Mundus takes the roll of the final boss and claims that Eva's soul is within the True amulet. Mundus in see's Eva's soul as a threat to his ambitions. Apparently the amulet with Eva's soul is what resurrected Trish and there is another line about resurrecting a child Dante. I guess In this context Dante may have died during the demon attack when he was a child and his half of the amulet could have brought him back to life, The line about child Dante isn't very clear.
