Willow for the NES was a bit of a gem.

Just an old-school adventure. Draw your own maps. Bit of a zelda-clone, sure, but retains way more adventure game elements to be as streamlined as those get.

Plus it had sickass tile-designs that animated in a fight.

It had one in the works, but it ceased at only a menu patch being released. Can't say for sure what happened, whether it was just too much text, infighting, boredom, or perhaps "growing up" or something. And unfortunately being part of OG, I'm assuming it has failed to attract further attention compared to the crossover tactical RPGs. At least the script is horizontal though, meaning if someone really wanted to, it's feasibly workable. Can't say the same for the like of, say, Sigma Harmonics, which has vertically oriented textflow that naturally doesn't work particularly well in English.

Might be monitoring the wrong places. I don't know how often GBAtemp actually gets anything put out, but D-D's cranked out three translations this year, two of them being RPGs, and TC's got their currently last project in private beta test mode. Geofront's also got ZnK at 75% editing, and .hack//Translate has Link at roughly 50% editing as of September first. And while not a patch release of progress report, 46okumen put out a post the other day about some of the process involved in hacking something like E.V.O.
