I got a switch because I love the idea of a portable emulation machine with a tegra x1 that can can also be connected to a tv.
What are some good emulators for the switch? So far I've seen lakka.tv but it doesn't support audio except through blutooth and doesn't work with blutooth controllers. and RetroNX.
While It's ok, both snes and genesis cores lag like shit.
So far the only decent emulator I found was psnes.

Well for me it's good because it could emulate up to psp games.

Besides from the scene being more devolved, the switch is objectively better. It's got a bigger screen, it's more powerful and it can be hooked up to a tv so it's both a portable and a console. The only limitation that the switch has at the moment, is a lack of a propper graphics api.

From what I recall Vulkan is still lacking I'd buy a system now and then wait a year for the drivers and hardware to get to the point where you can do Wii emulation. Additionally if you have the cash, the GPD Win 2 looks even better than the switch. Although I have no idea how the battery life is when running demanding games. Well I don't really have the cash for that. the switch was around 400 bucks while a GPD Win 2 goes from 750 to 800 bucks.

That's one reason why I love the switch so much, Iove the fact that I could play games on the go, or just kick back with a joycon in each hand playing games. It's nice for once for nintendo to have a gymic that doesn't suck shit.
But, that being said though, there's a design flaw with them though. The piece that mounts the joycon to the switch is made of plastic and can grind away, which is what happened to me. So what you have to do is buy replacement pieces that are made of metal to fix the issue.

That's far too critical of a point to ignore. The Vita can perfectly emulate all PSP and PSX games, as well as handle the 6th gen very well.
In terms of its size, the Switch is obnoxiously large in my opinion, too big for a handheld and it costs 330$ in 'Murica on a good day, and its even worse in every other country. A Vita+PSTV can be picked up for about 150-180 for both combined and you suddenly have far more at your fingertips than you would with a Switch. Most consoles before it had the benefit of being backwards compatible and that affected the homebrew and abilities for them significantly. For example a homebrewed Wii could play every GC game on it afaik.
Power doesn't matter until its realized and utilized, the Switch won't be worth getting in terms of homebrew for at least 2-3 more years by my estimate

Correct, its because the original Xbox and the Xbox One are ran under a hypervisor where specific instructions are gated to the main processor. That's why the Xbox 360 could emulate Xbox original games so easily, because Xbox original games were already being ran in a RISC-like environment regardless of its CISC processor. Its also why Xbox original emulation on PC is such a pain in the ass, because the hypervisor needs reverse engineering.

That's very true, while power isn't everything and, the switch's scene doesn't hold a candle to the vita, I still think the switch has promise, and it just scratches that niche that I have by being able to play on roms on a tv and on the go.

That's verry true, I've got an OLED vita with adrenaline installed with an sd2vita, and you're right. It can play them without a problem what so ever.

I don't really mind the size to be honest, I like handhelds with a bigger screen but, one thing that shits me about it is, that you need a carry case because of how easy the screen is to get scratched.

It's not really an unusual piece of hardware though. It's got an x1 which has been around for ages and is very well documented, hence how the rcm exploit was descovered. That's why lakka.tv has better emulation than running emulators on the switches os.
And they've already found a way to get opengl running on the switch which is a major step.

xenoblade 2 runs at like fucking 360p in portable mode and massive fps drops and slowdowns in combat, breath of the wild also massive fps drops in some areas, and every port of a modern 3d game being ridiculously downgraded just to reach like 20 fps. Don't forget having to mod your d-pad in, also the placement(bottom) is so uncomfortable it strains your thumb. Analog and d-pad placement should've been switched (like dualshock 4) to make it more comfortable especially for handheld mode.
Actually, what I'm still most mad about and what makes the switch a complete buyer's remorse is the small fucking screen for 3D games for which portable mode is an afterthought. Well there's a few nintendo switch dock mods that put the dock in a smaller case, and a few switch joycon mods.
For me, I bought a replacement mounting pin for the joycon because the normal one is made of plastic and it ground away on my right joycon so it slides off without pressing the release button.

No I bought it because I like the gymic that it has, and I collect consoles.
What made me buy one now instead of a few years down the line was because the recovery mode exploit.
With that, I could have it load any payload I want and don't have to wait for a firmware exploit to do the same thing.

There's a backdoor that lets you install homebrew through an eShop Virtual console purchase of pic related (I think it's $7, either way that's the last thing I ever bought for the Wii U). Something about a backdoor in Internet browser that lets you patch signature files used to verify purchases. The Wii mode acts just like a regular Wii, so you can get homebrew on that too using any exploit that's already out there for the Wii. Once all that's done, you can get every single Wii U game for free, play almost every single Gamecube and Wii backup you can find using vWii/Nintendont/USBLoaderGX, and get Retroarch working for every system up to the PSP (though PPSSPP is still pretty rough and might need a few months to be reliably good). nullDC on powerpc architecture never ;_;
Also, SwapDRC lets you switch between home and TV screens during gameplay so you could actually get a power inverter and lug around an extra five pounds worth of electronic shit in your backpack if that's your thing.

Not really no.
They didn't want webhax to happen on the switch like with the 3ds so there's no official app to browse the internet on the switch for you to use but, there is one that's hidden away that used for wifi login.
But if you want to make some homebrew for the switch I'd recommend you either check out gbatemp, or r/switchhacks/switchhaxing.
I know it's (((reddit))) but, for homebrew it's useful.

Piracy on the switch is very much a thing.
But at the moment there's no perminant cfw for the switch yet.
What you have to do is boot the switch into recovery mode and make it load an external payload. Either from your pc, a generic dongle such as pic related, or the SX PRO if you're a good goy.

It's very much a thing but, it's there's a huge caveat to it though.
If you want to boot into cfw, you can only do it by manually injecting a payload every time you launch. Because at the moment there's no way to launch cfw on boot at the moment nor, is there an exploit to use to launch it through the switch itself.
So what you have to do is have a portable payload delivery device or, plug it into you computer to deliver a boot playload.
And for cfw, there's 3 choices atm.
ReiNX, Hekate and SXOS but, for the love of god, don't use SX. It's made with stolen code, contains code that would brick your switch if it detects you're running a cracked version of the cfw.

Asside from the obvious piracy and emulators. There's things Layered FS which brings game mods, there's also the option of system modules aswell. So for example, there's a module for ftp. So instead of having to launch an app to use ftp, I can do it while my switch is doing anything. So i can play a game while im transferring stuff to it.
