Touhou is unique in that a lot of the running gags and character quirks don't actually come from the original series. How the characters are generally portrayed in doujin works have little to do with their personalities in the original games (where they're all lazy assholes).

I only watch playthroughs or speedruns of games I have already finished to sate my autism or to have as background noise. Mainly I like to watch how my favorite games' mechanics get abused to hell and back or if there's something I missed on my playthroughs, but I also like to talk shit with other people in the smaller channels from time to time. Smaller channels with more obscure games being played draw some genuine fans in and they are pretty good company. I once stumbled on a channel that went through the whole Japanese script of MGS2, finding out the things that were lost in translation. I fucking love that game to bits already so that was a nice find.
I personally never understood how people worship some of these streamers, though. If there is such a thing as a human NPC, Twitch paypigs are it. I have always abhored useless and content-less e-celeb shit that was geared only for mindless entertainment. Yes, even Gay Grumps and whatever the fuck else useless e-celeb crap /v/ used to praise. I knew that shit was poison right from the start.

I work a job so physically demanding the vast majority of people can't actually do it. I've trained new hires that landed themselves in the ER after two hours. One guy didn't even have the upper body strength to do it even once. He just could not lift the damn thing. From personal experience, secondaries are extremely annoying.
Secondaries in Quake are the people who say Quake 3 Arena is the best game of the Quake series and consistently namedrop it when discussing AFPS without specifying what they like about VQ3's mechanics over other Quake and AFPS games. They at best have some basic understanding of Quake multiplayer mechanics, but never played enough to recognize differences between AFPS beyond "it's all about moving fast, rail flicking, and circle strafing (sometimes confusing the terminologies of circle jumping, strafe jumping)". However, they don't recognize the basics of gameplay.
They also go to other AFPS games and claim it's a Quake 3 clone before fucking off.
Meeting one of them in-game can entail:
>ignoring all item pickups, armor, and rage quitting when they lose - citing the game has a veterancy problem even if their opponent only had a few months of playing experience
