I think that when people who are involved in the creative process of any given production deliberately add a person of color for the sake of virtue signaling, they are by proxy disrespecting the source material. They do this by 1) altering the cast to better fit their world view and 2) using their "platform" as a means to shove their political stances down everyone's throats. Both of these goals are ultimately personal concerns that have been given an elevated urgency in the creative process, when they really shouldn't even be considered at all, except in certain circumstances.
So, when you say that Ciri is an albino, that just adds insult to injury. I am not trying to imply that a black actress would be incapable of portraying Ciri well; I am saying that the faggots who cast her as a black actress are either ignorant of this special aspect of Ciri's character or simply do not care enough to represent the character in an authentic way. As far as I know, the fact that Ciri is an albino doesn't really impact much of the plot. What if it did, though? Then, casting a non-white person would not make sense on a thematic level. If that's the case, the faggots in charge would say something like, "fuck you, we don't care" or they'd come up with some contrivance to change or disregard what is potentially a very important aspect of the source material's plot.

At that point, though, most people probably wouldn't even notice that the actress in question is not white, except for those who go out of their way to find out as much about the actress as possible. Then, the directors wouldn't have a reason to choose a black person, because their "blackness" would not be on display. The whole reason they choose black or colored people in the first place is so they can shove it down the audiences' collective throats. Well yes, the whole adaptation was a fucking disgrace. I could understand casting American actors since the Japanese live action was already a thing and I doubt the Netflix studios have access to many Japanese actors. I could understand slightly tweaking the setting to reflect this, since Americans eating their ramen would be as ridiculous as Maya Fey's burgers. The rest was just Hollywood's typical "we know better than you" attitude rewriting stuff for the sake of rewriting.
However, casting wise, black L is kinda ridiculous. Well, technically, Ciri is not an albino, or at least not that we know of. She has a special snowflake hair color because spooky Elder genetics, but after all she has white hair (cinder-tinted in the books, because she is supposed to be the metaphorical daughter of Yennefer and Geralt and the author wanted something inbetween their hair colors; yep, peak symbolism right there) and is described in the books as having "ashen white complexion", so even if she is not an albino, for all intents and purposes she looks as one.
One of the not so thought of problems of recasting iconic characters is that you fuck up brand recognizability. If you recasted Geralt as a black guy, people would have a hard time recognizing him as Geralt at a first glance. Sure, fans would be able to identify him, but what about people who only know of The Witcher from some pics they saw once long ago? And even beyond her royal status, her bloodline is a huge fucking deal in the story. If you want to change Ciri's race, there's a ton of explaining you'll have to do, and it won't go over well. I think their "creative" process is virtue signal first, then write the script. I wouldn't even be surprised if they only start writing the script after all the casting is done.
