I'm playing it, though i'm still doing the story.
Also i always collect the daily free log in bonus so i have a tonn of cards and i haven't even payed anything.
The game looks and plays great.
I especially like the style and atmosphere of it.
It's like a celebration of western culture mixed with anime.

I've been playing this ever since the Darkness Evolved pack came out but now the game is frustrating due to how broken some cards are. The problem is that the Shadowverse team is beyond retarded when making card mechanics and powercreeped almost everything. Because of that, deck variety is nonexistent in the higher ranks of the game. I used to think the Daria days were the worst but now the game is unbearable. I'll be honest and say that the game was fun but ever since the Tempest of the Gods pack there was always a game breaking card/combo that would dominate everything. It's almost like there is a "take turns" system of who will be the one to dominate the meta next. It wall great while it lasted I guess.

I downloaded it about a month ago, and I completed all the story/ hard practice stuff. I've got a decent deck for haven, spell, and dragon, but the others are all kind of lacking. I haven't logged in for about a week because the dailies were really getting on my nerves. I don't want to be forced to play a craft I don't have a deck for, and I don't want to do be forced to do it until I pull 4 wins against other players out of my ass. I also feel like going first gives a bit too much of an advantage. It's just impossible to take back the field once the enemy has units out if you don't have rush or spells. If the enemy starts attack your leader instead of your units you've gotta burn your units attacking them so you don't die.
I had a pretty great game last time I logged in though. I was playing dragoncraft versus a spellcraft guy using chimera does x damage to the enemy team starting with units where x is the spell boost. Around turn 9 I saw him use an unbodied witch fill your deck with copies of a card you select and spell boost 10x times whenever you attack, and I knew shit was bad. I was sitting on about 18 health and he was sitting on about 12. I had a dragon sanctuary up summon 5/5 dragon every turn for 3 turns, and a beat up Poseidon team 5/7, 1/4 ward, 1/4 ward. I threw out my worm god of the skies if he dies unit played next turn gets 2x stats. Poseidon killed the witch he played (I couldn't take that damage) and the two guards brought him down to 10 health. He throws out a chimera that was charged as hell. It burns through every single unit I have and gets my leader down to about 3 health. However, worm god of the skies sacrifice gave me a big opening. I threw down another Poseidon, and then my dragon sanctuary churned out another dragon. So I had a huge fucking meat wall going for me 10/14 Pos, 2/8 ward Pos G., 2/8 ward Pos G., and 10/10 Dragon total of 40 health. He burned another mega charged chimera, and it killed Poseidon, one of the guards, and severely injured the other guard. That left my dragon enhanced dragon free to finish him. If it was that kind of game every time, then I'd probably be playing it right now. The game feels more like you're reacting to whatever enemies do most of the time instead of anticipating and planning. It feels like both sides have their game plan of how they'll finish the enemy leader, and it's just a race to see who gets the right cards to make that plan happen first. Every deck feels like it utilizes storm as the finishing mechanic, and there just isn't a way to prepare against that other than using storm first.

I played Girl's Frontline for a couple weeks. I could see how some might be able to get into it, but it's one of those games that tease you with all the things you can do to enhance your team and do cool shit that makes the game highly tactical and potentially rewarding to play… and then locks them behind paywalls and constant timers and busywork. What's worse is that it's pretty much built for NEETs, because you need to check on the game constantly, since some, but not all, of the timers can be kind of short, and there's different shit that pops up throughout the day. It demands constant attention and constant waiting, making it frustrating a fuck to play.
Master of Eternity is the same way, now that I think about it.

How much money did you spend on the game to build a competitive deck?
d13362 No.15467146
>>15460370
Zero (0) dollars. This is because from the very get-go I chose to strictly play Luna only so I only had to worry about keeping one class competitively viable. One good thing about Shadowverse is that they are very nice when it comes to free packs so you can easily create cards using the many extras that you get from the packs. Whenever an expansion is released everyone gets 10 free packs and defeating CPUs in"""Elite""" difficulty for the first time gives you tons of gold to buy packs with.
But because of how Shadowverse has 40 card decks as well as a 3-of rule for all cards including legendaries, it will still take a while to build a competitive deck since most competitive decks have at least three copies of three different legendaries. The fact that rotation is now a thing only makes it harder to get competitive since cards that you work hard for will probably rotate out. Aggro is probably the cheapest way to be competitive since the 20 HP that you get makes it easy to rush down opponents and healing is very rare unless you are playing Havencraft or Dragoncraft.
b675e8 No.15467195
Used to. It suffers from the same thing that all TCGs fall to. You need good decks for all archetypes to beat the latter campaign. I just do Storm Aggro f2p and hope for the best.

f6afea No.15468562
Tried to get into this game, but the power difference between legendaries and cheaper cards is too much to be able to play f2p, most likely by design.
They are generous with packs, but it doesn't end up being enough when you usually need 3x of whatever specific legendaries to make a competitive deck. Just gives the impression that you have to whale hard if you want to have any fun.

Biggest thing most people don't get is how important unlocking echelons is. Like that is the only thing you want to spend your crystals on until you get eight. With 8 echelons you can run 4 concurrent logistic operations, two echelon on an auto-battle, and and two echelon for active battle. Then it is just a matter of rolling for 5* until you get them. It's not a game you want to sit and grind away at like a grandblue. It's literally something yout take a couple minutes to set up during a break at work and some time after work to actively battle and advance whatever urgent mission or story you might need. I literally just play it at work and when I am taking my morning shit to be honest.
Shadowverse is a completely different beast.
