The problem with the anime is it felt like one of those VN adaptations that was more about being "fanservice" for people that already played the VN. It cuts a lot of corners. Planetarian was a shot for shot adaptation of the VN, even included the epilodge novel in the movie.
Rewrite only followed the common path, so you missed out on good stuff like Lucia and her sunflowers.
Majikoi anime is a side story with an extra path for one of the new girls in S. Think she gets an after story in one of the A games.

I'd say yes, if you can get past dumb redditors saying el psy congroo, it's got a good artstlye, the plot is damn solid and the time travel stays consistent with the rules of it's universe, the risk of being caught in a loop is real, characters are likeable, the translation was recently official so the in-game encyclopedia is in english, was in japanese for my play-though and had to google some of the more esoteric terms and theories that get thrown around.
Anime is also pretty good, it goes mainly for the main route and bypasses the side ones of the other characters, unfortunately. Amane's route branching off the main one being of good quality that didn't get into the anime. There's also an OVA/movie where Kurisu goes missing after the events and Okabe has to find her, ties well into the story and gives closure to the characters.
Should also be noted that this is entirely clean for a VN, was one of the first ones I went through ages ago for that reason before I got into eroge and opened up to the likes of Grisaia and Majikoi.
Haven't tried Steins 0, that's a sequel off a bad ending but I've heard it's so-so. Came out a year or so ago and I don't really have any interest in going through it.

It's short at about 2 - 3 hours going from the drunken one night stand to dating, to meeting the parents, to eventually getting married. I liked what was there, as there are very little in Orc heroines. There is an Orc tag on VNDB but no Orc heroines.
That said, the story was very short. The actual interactions between Zanna and Kenji last maybe 20 lines before they move to the next scene. There's attempts a world building but kind of falls flat when it's not fleshed out enough, just enough dressing when Zanna says she was involved in a shootout with mages but there's only a vague reason as to how all these races ended up in the country. There's also the explanation of the dark lords who previously controlled the orcs but it comes at a time conveniently when granny shows up. The actual dating also goes from 0 to 60 in about 60 lines of text, wake up drunk one morning, meet at office, go for drinks afterwards, end up in bed. There needs to be more build up. I know Orcs are described as "fast" and not sticking to social customs in universe but I don't want the author to use that as a crutch. If they went on a date or two while Zanna was being blunt about getting Kenji in bed, I think that would have added to both their characters. The interactions between Zanna and Kenji are good but there's so little of it I can't gauge much unfortunately. If they went on a date to a history museum, you could have recounted the history of the world while also seeing how "progressive" their relationship is in the modern time. I do like the universe, greenskin being an insult is the equivalent of the n word here but not enough work went into it I think. Having an interracial couple like this in a land of fantasy races with illusions to modern day and the racism that will get hurled at them is a good setting to explore, but the only racist thing we got was granny and despite being Ruckus, wasn't really enough to see how Kenji hooking up with Zanna is treated in this world.
The sex scenes were pretty nice, if a little rushed. The race play should have come later. Kenji and Zanna spend their first night together and it's good but Zanna wants to introduce the kink and does so in the second or third time they hook up. See, nice stead progression instead of her being immediately mind broken. Underwear was a nice touch and half expected a collar.
Music is all free based I think. I don't think it fits with the setting. It's Electronic and Synthesizer, it's nice to listen to but I was expecting drum beats and bass? to do with orcs? I dunno. Just felt out of place to me.
The art is serviceable enough. Art in the sex scenes is pretty fine but I think the CG and sprites could be improved. The line art in the flashbacks was a really good choice though, have the present in color and the past in black and white. Really detailed pictures as well. Keep em.
Now despite all I've said, I do like this and it has potential, I just don't think it's reached it yet. Expand the story so that it's longer, give more interactions between Kenji and Zanna so it feels like they're dating and their relationship progresses. Expand the world a bit, it's an interesting setting even if it's generic. Focusing on the love live of these two and how it plays into that setting is this things biggest strength I think. Clean up the CG and sprites a bit, add in a option to replay scenes, redo the music and you're gold. It'd be a solid Orc dating sim then and it'd be unique for being one of the only ones.
Author did say on the itch.io page that they're working on something so maybe it's a 2.0 version of this. We'll see.
Is it worth a play? Ehh, I'd say so. It's short and it has Orc sex. Want it to be more though.

Its a great game, the only complain i could make about the game is that there isnt a super fast way to skip already already read text like in most VN, but its not very text heavy and you can jump into any point of the story at any point so you dont really end up wasting time.
There is an autoplay function so you dont need to smash a key. If you hold the space bar/enter it speeds up text a little but its not light speed like most vn have, it feels more like its just starting the next line as soon the current one ends but it doesnt display the whole line at once, you still gotta wait for the text to appear.

Then some other minor shit happened, and iirc the anime ended on Kyousuke giving Kirino a peck on the face, the LN originally ended with a kiss. Only to the ones that don't like to think. Protip: If a person says Shirou is a garbage character or a Mary Sue, then they haven't read the VN and probably just watched the DEEN anime. It failed only in two critical regards, all avenues considered:
1 - It murdered Shirou's character, nuance, and agency, and sets him up to be an utter moron in most conflicts that take place both verbally and physically. This one's critical, since the VN made a massive deal out of the fact that while Shirou couldn't actually win arguments, he was steadfast in his ideals and not an idiot, often picking the optimal tactics in a situation with the tools he has on hand (give or take a fuckup).
2 - It destroyed the pacing with the rushed second half that tried to hamfist two other routes that didn't belong. This is the error more people are familiar with and complain loudly about. DEEN actuallly does a damn-fair job at outlining and playing out the Fate route, save that way they jobbed Lancer in his fight w/Gilgamesh.

- The story doesn't go on forever. Clear beginning, middle, and ending. Theme is also set in stone, and not up to the mercy of editor alteration
- The fights have weight, meaning, and are all high-risks. Aside of one or two battles per route, every fight ends in a death. Not a "I'll leave you to get stronger", but actual character being removed from the game. The main characters are also shown, meta-wise, not to be guarded by plot, as the 40 Bad Ends shows it can and in fact DOES go south for them in grotesque ways.
- No training arc bullshit
- No side character distractions that don't go anywhere. People bitch about the cooking and normal conversations, but even those drive the point home that this is a normal, everyday world that Shirou & co have to fight to preserve, and can all be blown away in an instant if they drop their guard. Again, real stakes, real tension.
- Conflicts devolve to strategy over power. Only fights that are one-sided are Gilgamesh mowing down Berserker ubw route, Saber manhandling Rider HF route, and Archer bullying Saber ubw route before she contracts w/Rin. No power levels invoked. It's a big part of why in interviews Nasu dictates any Servant had a feasible working chance to actually win all battles in HF4 & HF5. No one Servant was an unstoppable powerhouse or had Protagonist Protection.
- The endings are even-handed to outright downers. No pretty little bow to wrap up a happy ending aside of HF, and most of the viewers were treated to Sakura slowly going insane before that ending came about.
Shounenshit wouldn't have allowed for half of the narrative or exchanges that take place in FSN.

Art is kind of important for a VN, if I'm staring at character sprites for a few hours, I want them to look good.
Characters are critical, I like to relate to the protag/the girls he/she interacts with. A dull protag can kill a VN. Yamato and Yuuji are two very good ones, they border on self insert but still retain enough personality to be sort of independent.
I like a good story but characters interacting with said story is the best. The overall arc of Grisaia and setting up Majikoi are good and all but a damn good story draws you into that universe to where you just want to spend more time there than anything. Majikoi makes you feel like you have friends again and I wanted Yuuji to bully the Mihama girls a bit more.
Now sex is actually something I don't really want in a VN, shocking I know as it can distract from the story. Steins and Ever17 are two really goo examples of clean VNs that are just pure story. Stay Night also has a patch to take out the sex to focus on the grail, didn't do that however.
Favorite would probably be Ever17 for story, Grisaia for characters and Majikoi for universe.

Art and Story are nonnegotiable. It is a visual storytelling medium. Having either of those be poor immediately cripples if not kills the work. It may as well not even exist at that point (though highest priority is story).
Since it's a Visual Novel and not A REAL NOVEL then "Player Choice" or "Reader Interaction" is a must. Otherwise you're wasting time reading a picture book which will always have poorer writing than a real novel for obvious reasons.
After that it's all a matter of preference. I prefer ones with sexual content for the same reason I like RPGs with romance in them. Divinity OS2, Shining Resonance, etc. The more options I have in a game the more control or influence I have on its story. Even if I don't personally like the girls I can think "Would the protag romance ___?" and move that way. It's fun.

To be fair, the slowness that was present for this and the last half of the previous month was mostly because I barely had any chances to touch it.
