It was years ago, when I was still a teen, and I'd been on a gothic horror binge like nothing else (Hammer horror films, Interview with a Vampire, novels like Dracula and The Castle of Ortranto).
> Carrie is being chased
> she's running through the third level with the hedge maze
> running from a werewolf
> the werewolf pounces and uses one clawed hand to force her face down in the mud where she chokes and can't breathe
> the other claw tears off her white cotton panties
> the thunderstorm overhead rains down on them, wetting his (human) cock
> rapes her hard and her tears run down her face to bleed into the mud with the rain
> she falls unconscious, having given up on life
> Carrie is later found by some of the Sisters, or Brides
> they take her inside and clean her up, bathing her
> she comes to in the warm water
> the brides begin touching her, rubbing her where she's sore
> she fights at first but after the brutal doggy style werewolf rape she just doesn't have it in her anymore
> she gets fingered by vampire brides of Dracula and they suck her tiny tits, biting them lightly and drinking her blood from just above her nipples
> Dracula walks in on this
> the sisters begin to flee but he tells them to stay, to finish what they're doing
> using his hypnotic glare he holds Carrie's eyes as she gets fingerblasted to her first ever orgasm while vampires drink her blood from her puberty-blossoming tatas
> he orders them to dry her off and carry her to the bed
> they pin her knees up near her ears and spread her cunt, rubbing her clit and teasing her hole
> Dracula fucks the shit out of her and the cross she wears around her neck melts on her skin and runs away from her like mercury
> he comes inside her and the dark seed is planted and she can feel the dark urges stir within her, the dark thoughts whispering in her mind
> he pulls out his cock mixed with their cum and uses on thumbnail to slice open the head of his cock near the phlange
> shoves it in her mouth and makes her suck his cock
> her lips get stained red with blood, smeared with cum, her own wetness, and she drinks it in
> writhes in pain as she dies and is reborn, even more pale than before, hair bleached white, eyes dark, lips redder than ever
> his own eternal child bride with magic powers
> Dracula summons the werewolf that raped her and gives her to his new bride as a gift
> she walks up to him, thrusts her fingers up under his ribs and rips out his still beating heart
> takes a big chunk out of it with her new super shiny teeth
> gags on the taste of wet dog
> Dracula laughs
> says something about such beast men being lesser beings, she should only feed on the finer things like a true lady
Can't tell you how many times I've fapped to that. I like to think she flexed her new-found vampire powers by heading out to some village, seducing a bunch of men in a tavern for a gangbang, then literally tearing them apart for fun when they couldn't get it up anymore

Likewise but I'm still willing to give it a shot if it's good; they did a decent job with Curse of the Moon.
Anyway, there's footage of the new backer demo and from what I see it's a good thing it got delayed because there's a lot of rough edges to it - every character model looks of noticeably less quality than Miriam; the game foists tutorials in a game that has no need for them; voice work is a mistake and waste of money and, it would be better to use 2D art assets for dialogue sequences, basically take a hint from GBA-DS CV games and keep voice work to a gameplay minimum but it's obvious they wanted to lure people with a meme cast; weapons seem unbalanced, slow weapons do too little damage compared to the dps you can get out of a knife or rapier; the shard steal sequence looks like it will get grating after a while, hopefully there'll be a option to skip it; it still stirs my sprinkles that you have to go through a hall with a bunch of portraits of assholes dressed like Dracula throwing gang signs; the character moves kinda slow but maybe there will be equipment or abilities for that purpose.
Has its own complications but I'm more interested in Blasphemous.

I replayed SOTN recently and it's one of those games I'd love to see remastered:
- all the 3D stuff redone
- fix the localization, particularly weapon and enemy names
- new areas and enemies (no prob if they re-use NDS era assets)
- retouch some sprites, especially the Saturn ones
- NG+ cycles with scaling
- rebalance the difficulty (as is, some enemies can barely tickle you while others do huge chunks of damage) and add some new attacks for some bosses like Beelzebub calling assorted formations of flies
- there's a button that sees no use, maybe have that be the item use so we're not constantly equipping and unequipping things
- ditch some obtuse shit like having to use a library card on the final boss to get the last 0.01% of the map
- give Dracula a second phase
- Succubus rematch in inverted castle
- Maria and Richter selectable from the start and maybe a unlockable character or two (Trevor, Sypha and Grant working as in CV3 could be interesting, the base sprites are in the game already)
- some quality of life changes like better menus and a item box, maybe add a NPC to sell gear surplus to
- a proper Axe Armor mode
- a option to play the original so everyone's happy

True but the whole blood sucking thing really sealed that association. Count Orlok was the most correct with the sharp incisors to cut and then slurp the blood and he was also closer to folk descriptions of vampires, a shambling corpse looking dude followed by rats and none of that aristocratic poise almost every Dracula has. CVs got them all plus Brauner who's a bit of both with a dash of Picasso.
Dracula has had tons of forms (including Pazuzu for some reason) but the bat demon is the most common. My favorites being CotM (cool form, pretty challenging and the music is top notch) and OoE where he walks.

There's a weird sort of logic to this that actually makes sense when you consider it. Pazuzu was always considered evil, or at least dangerous, but he fought other evil spirits. This parallels with the historical Vlad rather nicely as he was considered extremely dangerous, but he kept those moor fucks out so people put up with him and even gave him gifts every now and then.

On the note of Cthulhu, Lovecraft's outer gods could make for some interesting connections between Dracula and the primordial Chaos if they ever want to go that route. in b4 Nyarlathotep as a tutorial area enemy

LoI establishes his backstory and relationship with the Belmont clan; he's a strategist for the Church (acquired the title of Count during the Crusades) and while abroad his wife dies of illness so no vengeful roaches like in the novel nor did he live as a hostage among them like the historical Dracula so it's a mix of both but admittedly more pending to the novel. LoI adds some problems in the mix because now there was a woman before Lisa and I don't know if it's ever explained that Vlad Tepes is a alias (on top of his new name).

>A few scorch marks on yourself later you've successfully taught her that sunlight, holy water and crosses are bad
>You manage to teach her how to turn into a bat (although only for about 40 seconds) and into mist (about 8 seconds)
>When the sun goes down she starts to get snarly again
>You figure that she's hungry, and she's looking at you expectantly, but there's been no chance to replenish your own supply so you can't give her your's
>Luckily for you you see some purple haired kid being taken away on a horse, or maybe he's riding it…not a chance, there's way too much demonic power in it for a kid to control
>She's noticed it too. She won't take her eyes off him and if she were a dog you imagine you'd see her tail wagging
>The horse is just waiting there, probably for Actrise since kids were her thing
>A whim pops into your head and you grab her by the wrist, and with all the vampiric strength you can muster in your blood deprived state, throw her head first at the kid
>The horse freezes at the incoming projectile, and you see a look of shock on the kid's face
>For her part Carrie only looked briefly shocked, before locking onto the living target's carotid artery instincts kicking in
>A spurt of blood erupts from his neck as she tackles him off his captor

>You decide to go relax in the Castle Keep, closing your eyes every now and then so you don't lose their trajectory
>You relax in the coffin, Gilles de Rais no where to be seen, and Dracula dead from the last time a werewolf trashed the place
>Ah, they finally hit the ground
>Or at least he did, your new protege being smart enough to turn to mist before impact
>The poor kid's pulse had stopped long before he hit the ground and splattered into a gooey red mist in the villa's backyard
>Carrie reforms and begins lapping at the remains. A quick check shows that the kid's soul is nowhere to be seen
>This should help the aesthetic since there were too many ghosts floating around here already, although Death might not be thrilled seeing as he'd been obsessed with kids' souls lately
>Content with the knowledge she survived her little sink or swim test you relax into the coffin for a bit

Different stories have different lore. Anne Rice's books have vampires that don't age once they're turned, whereas one book I read during my vampire binge had the kids continue to age up through puberty because they were getting adult hormones from their victims which tricked their body into aging to adulthood, or something.
I like to think it's something like The Belgariad, where the wizards and sorceresses are immortal but they age to the point where they think they are ideal. So the old man grows to be a properly wizard looking man with a long grey beard and bushy eyebrows, but his daughter stops aging in her twenties/early thirties at her beauty/reproductive prime.
tl;dr, the magic makes them what they want to be, or think they should be

No, I don't want another lord of shadows scenario. They've got a good chunk of the staff from the PS2, GBA and DS games still, plus M2 is always up for work.
If they're gonna do a new series, why not just continue with the Sonia Belmont offshoot timeline? That way you can have more freedom and not have to worry about messing up the original timeline.
Hell they could just resurrect Castlevania: Resurrection and let M2 remake Castlevania Legends. You'd got one game to experiment with an help establish a revival and then you got a good remake to please old fans.

When did Symphony of the night take place? Because there was a neutron bomb in Dracula's castle in that game. It takes place before AoS, obviously, so if that was in there I'm not surprised there was a handgun lying around. I think the real reason you don't see many easily-accessible future/projectile weapons in those games is that it makes some enemies trivial if you can just take them out from a distance not like any of the metroidvania enemies besides bosses are all that difficult to deal with but still

Officially, Dracula's castle is a work that "embraces chaos", so there's items and layouts that fuck time/space normalcy. Hence the overall internal schematic changes, technology being present that wasn't actually widely-used until the Industrial Revolution, and even spots full of actual holy light/landmarks, such as all of your save spots in the Metroidvanias. Symphony, iirc, was 1700s - 1800s

>Minions
You mean the hordes of zombies and ghouls that resulted from both razing towns to ashes or from robbing massive graves (like the ones the black plague brought on)? Do you mean the small army of lycanthropes tromping about, or the very-cognizant humans he had working for him directly in various states in his castle's caste (the maids/keepers, the alchemists, the higher tier ones like Isaac & Hector)? You mean the various ghosts, spirits, and wraiths still caught in the moment of battle or victimhood when they died? Those regulars, whom no average settlement could actually march against or hold out?
And none of that actually regards the gargoyles, lesser demons, minotaurs, gorgons, bugbears, and shit that humanity had no hope against without resorting to pleading for specials in the Church or from the Belmonts to step forward on.
If anything, the Netflix showing of Ellis's was tame as fuck. And in a good way, since by canon establishment (Curse of Darkness), Belmont managed to amass a small army to siege Dracula's castle—not just himself, a pirate, a dampir, and a druid.

Could make a multiplayer SotN. Nobody's kidding themselves, SotN isn't some bastion of pixel perfect design, it's just fun enemies and combat so the formula would work great if you just stuck in another player and made it coop.
I was incredibly confused that portrait of ruin wasnt exactly that. They give you two characters, there's coop fights, there's coop platforming puzzles, there's multiplayer, but there's no multiplayer coop. It took me a few days before I finally gave up and accepted defeat.

>That's right. Dracula resurrected exactly as he predicted. But vampire Hunters destroyed him completely. They ended his regeneration cycle by sealing his castle… the symbol of his demonic power, inside the darkness of an eclipse.
Julius states
>Yes. It's a whip that was handed down to me called "vampire killer" in 1999 I sealed it in this castle to weaken his spirit and magical powers.
A coversation with Mina mentions
>In 1999, a ritual was conducted in Europe. And that's when Dracula's castle was sealed inside it…
So from the looks of it, it was a simple matter of 1: Knowing exactly when and where Dracula would resurrect this time 2: Having the Habuka handy to seal him away (Note that even if the Belmonts knew about the potential, the only other post-Perry expedition instances of Dracula awakening were during the World Wars which makes it kinda impossible to try it)

>How was that netflix show anyway?
-I'm positive the creators had been trying to make a CastleVania movie for a long time. It was a live action movie originally.
-It's obvious that it was supposed to be a movie and not a 4 episode miniseries. The cuts between each episode are obvious.
Pros:
-Some of the lore is correct. Syfa is petrified, Trevor is banished, Alucard's relationship with his father is complicated, Trevor's whip is salted, Syfa uses fire & ice magic, etc.
-Action scenes are good enough you enjoy rewatching them. There's a place that looks like a clock tower that was amazing.
-Character design is good. People look more or less as they should.
-Voice acting was okay. It didn't distract me.
Cons:
-Story is boring.
-Church been evil while Dracula is pro-science. Wtf. I would have preferred this instance to show the Church not as its typical corrupt version but as it should have been: with cathedrals as places so holy that monsters losed hitpoints constantly while inside.
-Everything is gigantic and depressing. Happyness can never be achieved in this place. No songs, no flower gardens, no children playing. Even before the attack of monsters this place looked like another planet.
-Apart from the main characters, you have no way to realize you're watching CastleVania. No gothic architecture, no cool sculptures.
-Years of the greatest soundtracks in history go to waste. Music is 'Metroid: Other M' tier.
3/5, I'll watch season 2 only vecause it's CastleVania III: Dracula's Curse, of all stories.

If as Richter you rescue her (near the beginning of the game) you can choose to keep playing as her. The only way Maria could be flat in those pictures is if she stuffed by an incredible amount, which doesn't make much sense and it less likely than her just hitting puberty early. If you had a shot at designing a new modern 3D Castlevania then how would you do it?
Spoiler for autism. I'd combine Symphony of the Night metroidvania gameplay with a variety of whip moves based on tapping or holding the attack button. Hearts will be used for "holy sub weapons". They will be your only range option and can be free aimed and sometimes have a melee attack (daggers and hand axe for example). Also a lot of sub-weapons have AoE options like Holy water explodes like grenades while Saint's Ashes scatter on the floor and damage whoever stands on it. Sacred fire is a torch that creates a pillar of flame when thrown of the ground. Things like that.

Slower, more methodical DMC game starring an new Belmont with strength and agility similar to Richter. Crank up the horror atmosphere, while still having some goofy shit peppered about. Have Rondo style branching paths, where alternate stages have to be entered through secret exits. Give Belmont a few distinct weapons, including the whip, to keep combat varied and show off his martial prowess. Have some non-numbers upgrades, and make them visually display on his character model. That was one of the few good things LoS did.

What do you think about adding an alt-attack to sub weapons? For daggers and axes alt-attack can be a quick melee attack faster than the whip. Holy water you can pour directly on the enemy and watch them burn, etc.
I think dodging can technically stay in the game because to me dodging is "jumping laterally". But if the agility is going to be more like classic-vania with maneuvers then when you dodge you commit to your direction like jumping. You can also only dodge moving forward. No side dodge rolls or back rolls while lock on (if there is a lock on) or focusing/aiming (focusing is just holding your facing in one direction with camera behind you, no lock-on mechanic). Those are side jumps and back jumps. Due to slower paced combat I predict It's more useful to walk or dash out of the way of attacks and counter than dodge rolling. Dodge rolling would have the advantage of letting you quickly cover ground as a last minute maneuver but leaves you open until you stand up or fall prone on your face. And yes I would implement crawling as an evasive move for cover and getting through tight spaces at the expense of using your whip, but you can still throw sub-weapons.
The more I think about this the more I think simplifying Metal Gear Solid movement with Castlevania weapons. The game isn't going to be deep in stealth, far from it. But the commitment to movement really has to make you think about what you do before you do it. You have to learn your limits to get out of traps and ambushes and counter more than be a bad-ass and power through everything. Also this kind of system will be built around platforming as well as combat.
If there's any numerical upgrades I say have it be health/heart/damage upgrades and bottles. Damage will visibly be Vampire Killer upgrades. Health and hearts capacity can be scattered through the levels hidden in places if leveling isn't included. Reason I chose metroidvania design is because the 3D level leaves the player wanting to explore more non-linearly. Therefore with bottles that store doses of medicine (potion, antitodte, etc.) you can explore the game more without frequently visiting save points as often. Areas would be less like "levels" and more like sections of the world with multiple entrances and exits. Your goal is Dracula. So you need to go to these areas, kill bosses, and collect what you need to get to the throne room.

I mentioned Richter for a reason. He can do back flips, forward slide jumps, all sorts of shit. Belmonts should feel powerful. There's a reason they're the best vampire hunters in the world. When I said slower, I didn't mean down to something like Metal Gear, Resident Evil, or a Souls game. I just meant more deliberate, powerful movements, as opposed to someone like Dante, who is quick and snappy with most of his movement. I'm thinking a linear, level-based action game, like DMC, just with the branching paths I mentioned. Make it focused on combat and platforming, and keep the exploration purely for secret bonuses and paths. In other words, I'm leaning more towards classicvania, not metroidvania.
5b7e88 No.15499980
>>15499583
Fair enough. I don't think speed as slow as Metal Gear is going to work. The game will be much faster than that but still weighty enough to punish you for your mistakes when you dun goof. Movement system can work for either/or style of game: classic or metroid. Medicine can still work in linear classic like e-tanks. You can only carry one at a time but must immediately use the new one you pick up. Health and heart capacity upgrades can be optional rewards for exploring, but once you move on you can't go back to look for them. Dante Must Die mode difficulty will remove upgrades and potion bottles.

What about if you went a step beyond and made the agility similar to Juste?

No, make it an SRPG where every tile has its own particular platforming area that you fight enemies at for a limited amount of time per turn.

Only with time travel shenanigans Carrie and Maria. Also I want to play Frankenstein's Monster with his own story and moveset. Also Giant Bat should be a bat-girl loli commander.

That was seriously good. I had some apprehensions about it but it was everything I wanted. I never liked the Symphony of the Night type gameplay.

>If you had a shot at designing a new modern 3D Castlevania then how would you do it?
Castlevania 64/Legacy of Darkness remakes with all the cut-content they planned, some minor QoL improvements, proper camera controls/lock on and Old Axe Armor mode. That's it. C64/LoD were exactly what how the series should have jumped to 3D but was held back by hardward limitations.

Multiplayer? How much does it have from the original even in its unfinished state? Am I better off waiting for a miracle for Konami to port it over officially?
