It's not much better today, but the shitty performance-tanking frameworks are easier to work with at least. This is exactly what it's doing and it fucking sucks. I recall trying to install Starcraft from my disk and updating, it goes and downloads the HD version and fucks with your files. I recall it broke the compatibility of some of my custom maps, till I figured out you can still launch the non-HD version from its exe in your program files. At least, that's how I remember it.

Oh boy, after many years Blizzard Classic Game Team started to focus on Warcraft III again. They've so far released 3 major patches, 1.28, 1.29 and 1.30 if I remember right. They did do some good, like they added widescreen support, 24 player custom games etc but they also broke the fucking game in so many ways.

I remember when I patched up the game to either 1.28 or 1.29 and tried to watch the cinematic ingame and all I saw was black screen and heard the audio. Then the screen stayed black even after the cinematic was over. Nothing helped. CTRL+ALT+DEL didn't do anything. I had to manually shut down my computer to get it to work again. There was also some bug that caused the game to crash every time at certain part of the bonus Rexxar campaign so that you couldn't complete it. I think both of these bugs have been fixed, I hope.

However, the game is still bugged as fuck. The 1.30 added some annoying sound bugs. Most funny and the least annoying one is probably that in the French/Italian/German/etc versions of the game the dubbed orc shaman has the English sounds. More annoying one is that when you mute the game with CTRL+S command and queue for a ladder game and then unmute the game when it starts, certain sounds still remain muted and you have to relauch the game to get rid of it. Also all your map vetos reset each time you exit the game and a huge amount of the old custom games are broken thanks to the new patch. Oh and it keeps crashing on daily basis even if you just play ladder.

Worst thing about these 1.30 bugs mentioned above is that they were all known during the Public Test Realm period, but instead of fixing the known and reported bugs, they rolled the new 1.30 to everyone anyway.
