but he is right. companies are the enemies of customers. they care about money first and foremost, and they only compete for profits and market share (except when they collude), usually to the detriment of customer satisfaction. you'd know this if you lived in the 3rd world, especially when your government is regularly bought out by foreign corporations.
it doesn't help that most 3rd world governments consist of either dictatorships, populist, back-stabbing, embezzling bastards who pocket the people's money for their own businesses and their cronies or ruthless neoliberals who will serve you and everything else on a silver platter to foreign interests for their own and their cronies' benefit.

Because of the way it works it cannot have no impact, but a competent minimalist implementation of it will have a minimal impact, thing is most times it's not implemented competently or in a minimalist way (mostly because doing so makes it easier to crack)

I'm kind of under the belief that most big companies don't operate under a coherent agenda but are rather a bunch of suits who all individually sign a bunch of papers that contain legally binding contracts and just NEED to do some of the shit they do because either they didn't understand the long term consequences or they are market-illiterate and can only do good when figures and products are an abstract entity.
Like, this feels like some CEO signed a like two hundred games' worth of DRM in the early 2010s, it got developed, worked like shit and now they're legally mandated to add it in all of their games, but there's some of them who don't give a fuck and let it in or don't understand what it actually does, some who KNOW of the damage but still have to find some legalese way of getting out of contract (i.e. the game HAS HAD Denuvo hence it may have fulfilled their part of the deal) or some are just malicious and experimenting with customers.
Like, it's easy to blame the one guy or one company but never forget that game development isn't like the 80's anymore, when there's like three faggots in a garage paid by a cigar stubbing greasy Texan entrepreneur. Also, (((Jews))).

Yeah, and I'm also right when I say ducks have really long and weird penises when somebody starts talking about DRM. But it doesn't change it's irrelevant to the discussion. In fact, whatever I change the subject into infers my intentions and agenda.
The point was drm being removed from videogames. It's an accomplishment. Pointing it out is not shilling. Companies not being friends is not something nobody knew. But keeping companies in check and having them do the best we can make them do is important. You can't throw everything because "HURR DURR THEYRE EVIL AND WHATEVER!". That's retarded. And childish. And a Nirvana fallacy. And it doesn't accomplish anything. Compare the two:
>Guy who gets companies to remove DRM from their games
<Guy that whines all companies are evil and does nothing about it, thus companies keep putting DRM and even worse on their games.

Speaking of Denuvo: Last week I got a response to my email requesting they make devs disclose Denuvo on the store page and not EULA. They said they already do and asked for what game I was referring to. I gave them a list of every game that didn't disclose it (at least that the Denuvo curator mentioned) and was told "I see exactly what you mean and our team will look into this now."
Valve time being valve time I don't expect this to change anytime soon, but nice to know.

Removing Denuvo from a game after it's cracked means nothing. It's insufficient for a company to stop sodomizing its paying customers when there's no conceivable benefit left for them. They need to have enough respect for customers to not sodomize them at all. When they stop putting it in games in the first place, I'll care.
