I remember another anon here mentioning that the game looks great but it's busted, with shit like broken animations, broken AI, and that it only gets even more bugged with the updates and there is no hope of the game getting fixed now. This made me cautious despite wanting the game, because I remember watching a let's play where the animation for the antler rattler and the reloading of one of the big rifles looked busted, also I did notice some AI fuckery like deer getting stuck or running in circles. Can any anon confirm what the current state of the game is?

I mainly played this game for locations it has, even if they are generated by some computer script based on real world locations (which apparently Arma developers also used). They looked real as fuck, and there was some extensive work with the sound of it all.

But my immersion was kidna broke when animals started to stuck in trees and stuff (obviously because they didn't prebaked the AI paths in the generated environment). So i put the game away. That was the very first version of it, don't know if they fixed animal path-finding.

thehunter has always been shit. It originally had an autistic level of graphical detail but the actual hunting was super trivial, like run towards the woods and spend 30 seconds tracking then shoot trivial. Then they went insane with monetization and then just stopped giving a fuck. Now they're pitching Cabela-tier bear fights in their srs hunting series, what the fuck.

Even real hunting is pretty bullshit today. Faggots hunt our wild pigs via networked trailcams so they always know exactly where they are despite it being illegal, other faggots camp out in their treehouses and eat oreos and have gay sex while waiting for deer to come to their automated deer feeder. And safari hunting trips have a guide drive you to an animal and will practically point the gun for you. Maybe I'm being too hard on it.
