I was watching a viddoc about the shitshow behind Nosgoth, the Squenix online only hero shooter riding the soul reaver name.
It was a reminder that every online game, no matter how shitty or unpolished can get a niche that sticks with it till it dies.
The odd, granted anecdotal, thing for me is i don't really know anyone that plays these kind of games. Sure i know killing floor, payday, R6 siege and the like exist but don't really know many people that actually play them.
So what do anons actually play? in terms of online shit i really only play Warframe and monster but thats almost entirely PVE. The closest i came to PVP was some splat tim 2 and trying Siege but giving up after running into constant team killing.

Probably Rocket League simply by the fact that I hope in and out of it fairly regularly. It isn't plagued by imbalance, p2w garbage and other cancer that online-only games often suffer from. It's simple and mechanically pure.
Next would be For Honor, but the shine wore of pretty quickly for me. It has so many issues that just don't seem to get fixed. Still like the aesthetics though.

Red Orchestra 2. Tripwire a shit, but it's the only game with decent playerbase that features large scale battles with tactical objectives and realistic bullet damage. Can't stand games where you need to shoot a whole mag into a fucker just to make him go down.

I don't play online games, but I've been dicking around in WoW: BFA. It's not very good. On the other hand, the world as a whole has become so huge it kind of feels like an MMO despite Blizzard's efforts to remove every MMO aspect of the game.

i used to, but once i started getting matched up against the super autistic kill-hole faglords i gave up. siege is a great game but when a large part of defensive strategy is "peek through the tiniest hole you can and camp a door/window/likely breaching spot" it gets frustrating as fuck

Been playing Warframe on and off, it's probably the best acrobatic third person shooter out there, with a lot to do and lot of ways to play.
Trying out the Hitman 2016 demo too, the Italy level is fucking amazing and it feels like I'm playing Blood Money again. Are the other episodes just as good? I'm seriously considering cashing in.

What I like about Rocket League is that it's enjoyable at every level of play, I've seen complete shitters with coordination problems bordering on the pathologic all the way to autists perfecting their aerials have fun on the game. The only requirement is to play with balanced teams and most of the time the matchmaking works in that favor in ranked which I only use for that reason and the fact that there's barely any AFKs/leavers.
I just learned early that you just have to mute everyone and everything in the options because this game is infested with spergs, 12 years old, and easily tilted faggots (sometimes a combination of the three). The only useful comms are "need boost" and "I got it" anyway and barely anyone uses those until mid plat/diamond which I will probably never attain. All of this of course is only relevant if you aren't the kind to chimp out at every little thing that happens, otherwise you'll just burst a vein at some point.

The EUS server must be a some sort of anti-fag zone for RB6. I pretty rarely get annoying cunts on my team. You have the occasional ego, but most people dont really give a shit.
That is to say in casual play anyway. I've never touched ranked play, and probably never will.
