Speaking of, are there any good games where you are the monster?
I remember one that was being made and advertised at the same time as That walking simulator in hell, can't remember all the names, though.
The Suffering is one game where you can be a monster.

Its no coincidence that most of these games are strategy of some sort. Those'll be your best bet, where there is one faction inspired by eldritch abominations.

In the Suffering you play as nigger which compared to white people automatically makes you a monster. In the same vein, >>15391376

Seconding The Darkness, enemies shit their pants hard when they see you, you grow stronger by eating people's hearts, and absorbing power from darkness and getting fucked by light are neat mechanics.

Most torrent sites only offer a version of the game that used in-game ads via an online service. However, since everything involved in that process is defunct, the game is left in an un-launchable state, since the online servers the game tries to connect to, to provide ads, no longer exist.
And I tried something like 12 different torrents each of them being the same version of the game, of the same file anyway.

It's too bad that most devs are too pussy to let you play as something actually evil. Even the games that are marketed on it usually only let you play an asshole hero, or an evil doofus that actually causes good things to happen unadverently. There are very few games where you're a straight up villain trying to massacre innocents and defeat the good guys.
It's not even difficult to realise why. Many players would be turned away, saying they don't want to play as something evil (because they're too casual to understand fun), and then there's the matter of some of the faggier employees telling you they'll quit if you try to do something really fucked up.

There's the indieshit Crawl. It's got that awful low effort blocky sprites, but the gameplay is pretty good and the sprites aren't totally awful for monsters at least. The main idea is dying as a human lets you spawn as all kinds of monsters to kill the other players and try to earn your humanity back, same goes for everyone else. Narration and atmosphere are very grim.

That's the one thing I disliked on the 47 games. Every single guy the agency has you murder is a bad guy. You never have to kill a key witness protected by the fbi or a politician who didn't accept a bribe. That's one thing Death to Spies did way better, most missions aren't to kill bad guys.

Scorn might be what you're looking for. It looks like essentially what would happen if Zdzisław Beksiński and H.R. Giger designed a game's aesthetic, though its a bit heavy on the body horror-flesh vibe. I've only seen screenshots though, and not any actual gameplay/story. It's got the visuals down pat though
>15391848
No. The issue is that the Devs who DO do it, do so in the mostly uncesarrily edgy as possible, see Hatred. Or they dance around the merry poll that is controversy for the free publicity, and the actual game ends up being shit, see Agony.

Crawl has TERRIBLE multiplayer balance when j played it, as once one player has a lead on the others, it is hard for other players to catch up. In my experience. Whoever is alive just b-lines it for the shop if they can find it, and buy the potion that increases all their stats. From there they just snowball with the lead. Even if you DO manage to kill them, the player that takes their place is a lot weaker then the main snowball, so he gets off'd quickly and the main snowball eventually regains his place.

I'd settle for a multiplayer first person shooter based on at the mountain of madness with three teams fighting each other, explorers, elder things and shoggoth. You could have different mechanics for all three and the city described in that newsletter could hold any number of really creative maps aswell as very nice game mechanics based on managing supplies and team deathmatch.
