Who will be victorious in this grand conflict? Will the now ancient GEG be able to regain their past glory? Or will they fall against the newly born Empires, making way for the new generation? Find the answers in this episode of Legend of the Galimulator Empires.
>What is Galimulator?
Galimulator is aandroid game that I downloaded to have something to do while waiting in lines. It's a small game that basically simulates a small galaxy with it's own politics which you can observe and influence with small things without actually taking part in the action although there is a possibility of controlling one of the empires, think of it as something like Species but with Space Opera theme instead of an evolution one. It's suprisingly complex, and it's engaging enough to keep you busy while you drive the bus or something, sometimes an alliance forms between the factions or an eldritch horror appears in the galaxy or something interesting like that will happen and you can root for your favorite empire to do something.

The point of those threads is not to play the game, or get you to play the game, but to observe a randomly generated universe with the nations you create.
You take one of the visible empires from the map and you choose:

>Specials They modify how the empire acts
>It's color
>(OPTIONAL)Name of the Dynasty that rules your Empire
>(OPTIONAL)Name of your ruler
And watch how they fare in comparison to other empires chosen by other anons. Seeing that we had fun memeing things like Hunger Games for a while, I think this might have some potential too.
Seeing that rebelions are a thing in this game, and they lead to the creation of new factions, I'll try to include every single faction into the game. Whenever a rebel faction manages to take enough stars to be an actually important player in the galactic politics, I'll rename it to the last thing an anon suggested. So if your Principality of Greater Space Israel or The Galactic Third Reich didn't get into the game, they might whenever an Empire starts degenerating.Transcendence is disabled which means that Empires won't disappear after gaining enough tech levels.

God, 2001 is such a remarkably well-made film on every scale. It looks like it was made in the 80s. There are only four fictitious films that felt enriching and emotional; A Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Blade Runner, and this. My absolute favorite film of all time.

Kubrick did more in 1968 with some practical sets than all the kikes in Hollywood can achieve with CGI today. The story, the cinematography, the acting and dialogue, it's all an incredible vision of the future. I think it's really amazing how intricate and detailed everything is, it's a very convincing depiction of future space technology. When I watched the movie again a year or so ago, I was struck with a deep melancholy thinking about how short we've fallen from the lofty civilizations of the film; I now imagine 2001 as an alternate universe where western civilization remained 99% European and we devoted our excess resources towards spaceflight rather than weflare gibs and aid to Africa. That's the most I'll say on the subject in this thread though, I don't want to derail the topic with /pol/ stuff.
It's really fascinating to look into the creation of 2001 and the great lengths Kubrick's team went to create the practical sets and effects. I recommend the video series "How Kubrick Made 2001", which is far too long for me to webm, so here's a Youtube link:

Also, if you're a fan of space futurism like I am, and enjoy speculating and deeply considering the possibilities that space industry provides humanity, I recommend taking a look at the Isaac Arthur channel on Youtube. His videos are primarily in the format of 20-40 minute discussions on a particular space exploration topic, generally about technological possibilities. The discussions are always grounded in reality and firmly based on hard science, without any of that excitable clickbait soyface bullshit that other youtubers pull.
I think 2001 is my favorite movie as well, certainly my favorite live-action film. A good introduction to his channel is the Upward Bound series. Here are a couple good ones if you're interested:
