that sort of answers your question right there. The reality is: you could not get away with making a game like this now, in this climate. All the old and premature balding soygoys would be clutching their pearls at the sight of brutal hammer executions rendered in HD unless it's TLoU where you have to save your dyke genderfluid androgyne child from an evil trump voter. I think murder for murder's sake appeals to that shrinking niche of gamer that went for Postal/Hatred/etc.

It got the best treatment: it was not bought, but heavily pirated.
That way, the company could not profit, and the game was left intact, without endless and soulless sequels to turn it into a shitty franchise.
The best thing to happen to a good game is for it to fail at the market, so it can never be ruined by greedy corporate suits.

We're not going to get anything like it because Rockstar's approach and AAA games taking years upon years to develop.
Rockstar used to release a game or two nearly every year. Then since GTA V they rereleased it twice the two following years and we're only getting a new game from them just now. And the next GTA will be even shittier than V.

I really didn't get that vibe at all. It's hardly murder at all, the enemies will kill you on sight and are murderers themselves to begin with. To me, it's hardly a moral quandary. It's already justified IRL to execute these kinds of people. Because of the brutal nature of the games style, people for some reason call it murder. The dude is literally just working with what he has, shards of glass, paper bags, etc.
The point is that murder is a choice, and this is no choice. The main character is defending himself and executing people to the best of his abilities, which happens to be brutal to witness.
He's not making a choice about it, he's not being very methodical, and likely not even enjoying it.
At a gameplay level it's not bad, but it's anything other than a murder sim.
It probably exist, but I have yet to see anything I would call a murder sim.

Snuff is beautiful though. Manhunt is probably the only game in the world that covers such a taboo topic, and we definitely need more games centered around said topic. Mainly because humans are naturally survivalist creatures and since we always have to fight to survive, why not embrace it and make forms of entertainment around it? It's easier to cope with losing family members that way and the more desensitized a person becomes, the less morally clouded their minds get, so they can make more logical decisions faster in times of desperation.

If you're complaining about the lock-on, it's because of the console controls, making free aim only as fluid as rocks in a blender. On a PC it's better, but even then, because of the free-aim headshot instakill glitch where you can only deal headshot damage to someone when you're locked on. Although this, and the fact that you can't shoulder switch makes for something to complain about, other than that, the gunplay actually holds your hand in close range, as all you have to do to get a headshot is flick up and discharge. Then BAM! Your enemy is dead. So once again. No. There are far worse games with far worse gunplay, Deadly Premonition and Siren Bloodcurse for example, have much worse gunplay, but ironically, they were both made after Manhunt on a younger console.

The only reason they are not making a third title is that Hillary, Schwarzenegger, and Thompson brought the might of the U.S. government to do everything they could to prevent the second game from getting released. And, while they did fail, and Scalia made the ruling that video games are protected under the first amendment, that hasn't stopped othersenators and politicians who want to flail around their "mighty power" to get "violent video game" to become banned (Or, did you forget that EVERYONE was pushing for the banning of video games earlier this year: https://archive.is/W0gr6 ). Hatred only missed suffering such a widespread media craze because the title was such a low-effort affair that the developers were just trying to get some kicks by being edgy in the most simplest sense of the word. However, if a developer did try to set out an make a truly violent, gritty, popularized game in this day and age, you'd see everyone and they're grandmother coming out of the woodwork to declare that the U.S. constitution is dead and that "Freedom of speech" cannot be allowed to happen when "this is the result". And, damn it to Hell to anyone who objects.
Overall, it's a sad state of affairs, and this wouldn't have happened if people told all these idiots to take their feelings and shove it where the Sun doesn't shine because NO ONE CARES.

As a result of this, we envy those who are normal and those who are not outcasts, when the insult is added to injury, and we start to get pushed around and mocked after constantly having to suppress our desires to indulge in the pleasures of the normalfags, we become frustrated, thus becoming violent and hateful. Who can blame us though. I'm fucking sick of constantly getting pushed around for being a virgin and not going to parties and even not making out with girls. I'm not saying don't pirate because I do it myself but don't be surprised when developers churn out casual games designed to appeal to the common denominator because whenever they try and make great, but niché, games creatures like you refuse to pay for it so they either go out of business or decide "fuck making games like this we'll just do what EA does".
>c-corporate shill
Nah, cunt, I just know that never paying for well made games just causes the industry to churn out shit.
Popular games will cause sequels and attract a wider audience and the following game/s will become streamlined and shit but that's simply how it goes but if we never buy that one good game then we lose the chance to see another good game and we actively discourage the creation of good games.

Degenerates like you trying to pass corporate manufactured filth as a civic virtue is one of the reasons society is fucked in the head. The men who penned those rights in the constitution would have had you imprisoned for selling "beautiful snuff," probably hanged if it was to children.
Being bated by opposition politicians does not make your position here libertarian, conservative, or classically liberal. These are not amoral philosophies.

They re-released gta v AGAIN a couple months ago, it's called ultimate online edition and it costs 70 dollars, wanna know what it contains to justify full price+extra ten dollars? 1 million shekels in online (aka 30 minutes of grinding) and the disc comes with all the updates on disc already, yes the FREE updates, they charged for them, they didn't even put it in a fancy metal case or printed the small ps3/360 manual and map it had, it's just the blue/green case, new cover art and the disc.
5b50d7 No.15416283
Now that I think about It, the Condemned games had a similar premise, but in 1st person perspective, and that game was released on Ps3 and Xbitch360 without any controversy, or at least not as much as with Manhunt. Obviously condemned wasn't as gory, but it was just as realistic, what with the scarcity of ammunition and resourcefulness of everyday objects like vent covers and lead pipes.
Although the Condemned games also suffered a discontinuation.
So, back to my earlier question, could we get away with falsely-advertising another Manhunt game so that people only find out how violent it is when they play the game or watch a walkthrough?

Then why wasn't The Sorrows of Young Werther pulled from publication?
<In the United States the campaign of moral outrage against Werther gained momentum in the 1790s. During the last decade of the 18th century American publications regularly reported on the devastating effects of the novel on its readership. In 1798 one contributor to the Philadelphia-based Weekly Magazine sought to convince booksellers ‘to remove the book from their shelves, by alleging that it had already proved “the bane of more than one family” in the state’. Yet as the novel continued to be a best-seller well into to the 1800s, its critics became more and more hysterical in their attacks on its author. Goethe was charged with producing a novel that sought to romanticise suicide. It was as if America’s moral anxieties were sublimated through its reaction to this novel.

Regardless of the argument, (yes, it holds nothing valuable) these kinds of games hurt no one. People who don't like them can ignore them and people who like them don't have to get upset over the fact that they're cancelled because someone doesn't like what someone else is doing in their own free time.
It's like praying to God in your free time.
If someone else doesn't like that you're doing so when you're not at work, they're retarded.

If I wanted to see dead people, or people getting killed, I'd go to bestgore, which I do. Video games can't depict murder properly, because video games are fiction.

Or the YNC, or Liveleak, or Death Addicts, or Funker 360, or Horrible Videos, or r/watchpeopledie, etc… the point is, we get to decide who dies and how here, and this is the closest we've gotten to emulating real manslaughter.

It doesn't matter too much what sells and what doesn't, that is why you have cod games with stupid shit like black nazis. It's actually better when games don't sell well, because not only does the team have to try, but they get one shot to make it good or it's lost. The more successful a game the higher the chance for terrible underhanded tactics.

I feel like I'm the only one who liked MH2 better than 1. I really liked the paranoid and degenerate atmosphere in 2. It's a twisted reality that takes it a bit farther than GTA. I would have liked the kills to be uncensored, but what I saw was enough to satisfy. The moves had more weight to them and felt more realistic than in 1, and I liked the story better, too. Ironically, when people call these types of game immature, these games actually demand the most maturity out of the consumer.

It doesn't matter. Manhunt has you fighting cartoonish caricatures of Mexican gangs and skinheads. That's neither realistic, nor is it something out of the ordinary for video games. You can't depict murder, suicide, or accidents faithfully in a video game: because it's fiction, no human being is impacted by it. What draws me to gore sites is the fact that those were real people who had real family, who had real connections and lives.
771fa6 No.15418730

Well you clearly haven't played manhunt enough. It's definitely not as realistic as the real thing, but there's nothing more realistic than Manhunt. Sure it isn't portrayed as well in Manhunt 1 as it is in its sequel, but you have to give the audio and mocap team props that they tried. I would say that the enemies you execute cry, groan, and scream in pain just like in real life, and the gun executions which feature people's heads being only partially blown off also adds to the nice touch, when you consider how someone's head looks after getting buckshot at point blank range.
The point is, unless you know how to cover your tracks and are planning to repent before God after you've killed enough people in real life, this game is the most interactive yet.
I know there's more room for it to be much more realistic, what with today's technology. Remember, we're all our own family here on /v/. As I've said before, if we start a fund raiser and get some capable and willing devs together, we might just be able to get another Manhunt or at least pay homage.
