Except that disclaimer is not omnipresent. For example when the lead dev of no man's sky was interviewed, what he said was gonna be in the game was 100% liable. He said there was multiplayer, of which there was none. Commercials do not have that disclaimer yet show off such features.

Anon, you do know they record gameplay in engine and then render it out with a higher dynamic range (F-stop) so the lighting is more realistic. Modern consoles just aren't capable of rendering the game like this in real time because theres so much to calculate, heck, it takes images that are rendered like this a couple hours to even complete if you're going by what the console is capable of.
Now, they are absolutely correct, this isn't a downgrade, but they did feed you bullshit, every bit of lighting you see in the trailer does exist ingame but you just can't see it in the same way because the way the game camera interprets light isn't on par with what the render's camera is capable of seeing.

Assasins creed style combat is antithetical to gaming entirely since in game it makes crowd control the easiest fucking thing ever. All you have to do is just keep spamming your safe moves over and over and these "Dodge" or "Roll over enemy" maneuvers that are just instant, require no reflexes, can be cancelled into from other current attacks, and can be abused to shit. So essentially there is no challenge or engine to master as opposed to a Devil May Cry esque game where the skill ceiling and combo diversity/intelligence required to operate this machinery is much more intensive than this garbage.

The SM2 mechanic isn't remotely the same as the overpowered and completely ridiculous wall running in Insomniac's game. That one was still influenced by physics, much like the swinging.

i'v played most 3D Spider-Man games and I would say 2000 was great as Spider-Man first 3D outing plenty of cool techniques like the web fists and Web Dome, Venom was also a ton of fun and Monster-Ock as the final boss is still one of the coolest thing i'v ever seen out of Spider-Man. The Sequel enter elector wasn't bad but it was pretty much more of the same like a stand alone expansion.
Spider-Man The Movie (2002) was a true sequel to the 2000 game mechanically it improved and polished all of it's gameplay, and by beating hero difficulty you could unlock Harry Osborn as the Green goblin. Green Goblin mode made the game play completely differently, it had it's own story with quite a bit of unique voice acting, and was over all pretty bad ass.
Spider-Man 2 is the one everyone praises and for good reason the Web swinging was very well crafted, but I feel the game lacks in other areas as if all the budget when toward the Web Swinging
Personally I prefer the Ultimate Spider-Man game it felt like a more complete package and it let you play as Venom which is great Story wasn't bad too.
Spider-Man 3 was mediocre, not god awful but there wasn't much to it, the best part of the game was failing the QTE's on purpose and seeing Spider-Man face plant a wall but they did make New Goblin DLC even though the final level has you play as him so you know he's already on the disc and that was tottal bullshit.
Web of Shadows has a really fun combat system even if there isn't a whole lot of skill involved there are still allot of cool things you can pull of in fights, the web swinging was also fun because as you would collect tokens though out the world your swing speed would increase and it would eventually get to the point where you could swing so fucking fast that you could clear half the city seconds and the game would freeze you in place because it needs to load the other half of the city.
