Time to look for some older games anon, they're a lot better in many ways 90% of the time. the graphics can be quite jarring sometimes but there are quite a few old games with the absolute worst graphics but they somehow manage to look good still. Like stalker, it's not the absolute worst but it looks so good for an older game

Yeah, it's been like that for most of us for years.
Recently I found Factorio, and La Mulana 2 came out this year, so gradually we're seeing some better titles. However, even if certain games are good, I've personally blacklisted some companies for shitty business practices, so I don't even look at Microsoft or Nintendo titles for example. I don't care about Sony. So I'm stuck on PC and indie games.

I haven't bought any systems since the Wii, PS3, 360 era. And as far as PC games go I really haven't bought anything that wasn't old or on sale for $5 or less. But it's not just games. Pretty much everything in Western entertainment right now is totally fucked. Thank God anime and manga are still relatively okay (for at least the next year or three). I guess I've saved a lot of money when I think about it. It's just kind of sad that there is no new stories being told or game genres / mechanics being invented. and everything has to have some kind of screwed up agenda behind it. Even with all the wonderful new technology and possibilities and knowledge available everywhere instead of a promising future we have the start of a new Dark Age…

Well there's a bunch this year as >>15404964 puts it. Although this month only has Xenoblade 2: Torna and Valkyria Chronicles 4. Thankfully I can save my money this month since I already got Xenoblade via the expansion pass. Although there's not much going on in the holiday season. Since there's only about 21 games that look worthwhile as opposed to 39 games including Switch and Console ports. That said in addition to the larger number, 2017 also had better quality titles in the mix like Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, Nioh for PC, Hand of Fate 2, The Mummy Demastered, Cuphead, Ruiner, etc. When 2018 only really has Red Dead Redemption, Just Cause 4, Smash Bros and Forza. I mean most of the 21 games I listed are either of questionable quality like Darksiders 3 and Pokemon Let's Go, and some of them are really not that interesting like Undertale or Spider-Man: Feminist Edition
