With Emuparadise in Panic Lockdown, is there any other place to get good scans of them? They're almost always better formatted than shitty wiki guides, and text FAQS. As much as I enjoy finding these things at used book stores, the Nintendo Tax has even infect the little old ladies club shops.

I used to own tons of these back in the 90s, I remember a Nintendo Power map encyclopedia of all the side scrolling NES games that I owned. dunno if my mother and father have it in their attic.

TIZ had some. Had, keyword.

>They're almost always better formatted than shitty wiki guides, and text FAQS.

Not always, depended entirely on how accurate the information in them was, and some were notorious for being inaccurate.

>As much as I enjoy finding these things at used book stores, the Nintendo Tax has even infect the little old ladies club shops.

>Went out earlier this week.

>Bookstore somehow had gotten in a copy of the 2001 guidebook for Tales of Destiny II (IE: Tales of Eternia).

>Looked like it had never been used.

>Get a bit curious since I love that game, not planning to buy it but still give it a looking over.

>Price tag is $35.

I know the game itself is like a hundred and twenty dollarydoos these days around here, but the guide should not be between a fourth and third of the price, even if in good condition and not seen much. Especially when there's an old RPGshrine that serves the same purpose better if one needs help with something.

They're totally useless and have been since internet guides have been popularized

EP's guide archive wasn't really the best, as they were missing a ton of official guides. Still, it was nice having someone archive them, as I can't stand ascii text guides either.

And much of the guides you see online are usually terribly formatted or a pain to look at.

Bradygames and Prima were usually pretty good. Offbrand shit that came along during the DS era of Pokemon were notoriously shit. The official guides also often had artwork in them you wouldn't see elsewhere.

I'd use them more if they weren't horribly outdated. My d2 guide was published for patch 1.07.
