Multiplayer fighting game released under the banner of Tasofro with ZUN's approval. Has a great battle system, allowing for fun matches, but hosting players are required to forward ports.

Simple-to-learn and hard-to-master gameplay with anime girls flying across the screen every so often. Very fast when played right.

How do I install it?
Extract into the folder of your choice and launch Enable SWR content in soku.bat. From now on, you can use Launch Hisoutensoku + sokuroll.bat to launch the game all ready for the netplay. The game will still miss some things that you would normally get if you play story mode and arcade mode, but you can download the full unlock file from here - http://koumakan.jp/games/score123.dat and replace it with the one in your game folder to skip the effort of getting everything.
How do I host?
Host player forwards the port (detailed instructions are available on the internet) and provides IP with a port in an IP:Port format, launches the game with the .bat file and uses the Vs Network menu to start the server. Client has to connect to provided IP and port.

Right, when you're blocking and the opponent hits you, during the time in which you can't do anything - it's usually referred to as "blockstun" - if you hold a certain direction and press the dash button twice really fast, you will break one of your orbs and interrupt your blocking straight into a dashing animation. It's useful to get away from your enemy because there are many moves which force you to block, even if they're hard to chain into another moves.

Is that so? I've been running (as host and as non-host) since 2011 or so, first on current Linux Mint (back then) and then Arch.
There was a bug in older Wine builds where once you opened 'Server Setup' you couldn't cancel - doing so would hang (but not crash, music still played) the game, necessitating a pkill to get rid of it.
I just tried doing this now and it properly cancels this time, but I don't know when this stopped happening.
The koumakan wiki covers a few of the other issues. The depth buffer projectiles work fine on my side now (such as Sanae's 6C) but I remember when they were wonky.
All in all, it's pretty playable.

It's very very good bullet cover and "okiezeme", where you try to solidify where an opponent is going to try to ground/air tech to.
Also useful for mixing things up with an aerial jump-in with the B version or dash-attack with the C version, but since the only person that ever fucking hosts is addicted to jump-ins with characters that have a really good j.5a, you'll never have a chance to use it as a mix-up without getting stuffed immediately.

There are cases like Okuu and Suwako though where how the character controls is confusing or strange and it might fuck things up because dealing with it is hard. AN URGENT APPEAL TO ALL PARTICIPANTS
From the previous tournament, there are a couple of things that we've learned regarding the setup. Therefore, all participants are asked to get a couple things ready in case something bad happens.
1. STRMFAG CAN'T CONNECT TO SPECTATE YOUR GAME
Sometimes the game refuses to enable spectating no matter what. Because of that, please always save replays of your matches and if such a scenario occurs, send the streamer your replay with information about who's playing what character. They're located in the /replay/ folder. If you're autistic, you can make the game always save the replays for you by going into settings.
2. TWO PLAYERS ARE MATCHED UP, BOTH CAN'T HOST
That's not a problem if you can, but if you can't, we've found out that ZeroTier works for the purpose of allowing retards host without forwarding ports. It allows you to create a custom network that other people can join - by default, with your permission only - which emulates a LAN network. In the process, it gives you an IP that you can use to host the game within the network and others within it can join. If you don't want to bother doing that, you can think of something yourself - last time two fags played fucking Jojo on fightcade, of all things. Just don't hold everyone up.
3. TOURNEY STARTED, PLAYERS STILL MISSING

It allows your stamina bar to take hits instead of your health bar. You can border escape out of complicated pressure strings by holding a direction and double-tapping dash, though you'll need to get the timing right. It's still a way to get out of a bad position though, so you need to find out a way to not get comboed to death in the first place, which is why you whack the other guy first. To do that, you need to find chances to do so, meaning complicated movement tricks etc etc you get the point. Either way, GGs.

There is a buffer time before command actually registers in soku because of sokuroll having a 4 setting by default. That also applies to releasing block too, meaning if you release block by accident then quickly block again, the timing of that release is gonna be delayed.
However, if your game is REALLY laggy for some reason, then tell your host to increase input delay - minus and plus buttons on numpad. It might fix things somewhat if it's because of that.

Ignoring the first one because I can already tell how it's going to be from the thumbnail and it will be exactly like the other 300 of those style UN Owen remixes.
The second gets 4/10 overall. The instrumentals are good, the vocalist follows the tune properly in some places but they're pretty weak and that intro is complete garbage. It gets much better at 1:00, and then the vocalist takes over again. The last minute and a half of the song is pretty good. If the quality was consistent it'd be worth saving.
