Are there any recently released RPGs that have a good story, have player choices that matter and also don't have the shitty combat of Infinity Engine rpgs?

I just kind of want to sit back and immerse myself in good lore. Is Divinity Original Sin any good?

Does that include Fallout and Diablo? Yeah I know diablo is its own engine, but it all looks the same.

DOS has Fallout combat, does that count as well?

Or do you just hate DND combat in particular? Then I guess KOTOR won't fly for you either.

Really slow combat that requires remembering shortcuts and is generally clunky. Fallout gets a pass because the combat's pretty simple.

I don't know what DOS is. Diablo's combat is completely different from Infinity Engine rpgs so I dunno what the fuck you're talking about.

I've played Kotor already. That's why I'm looking for recent stuff.

Are you sure you're didn't just get assblasted at an autistic (computer) dm giving you bad rolls? Remember your first three stats are compulsory for melee, and to use weapons you have specialization in

I played one hour of baldur's gate and pillars of eternity and the combat just really ground my gears and I was having absolutely no fun.

I'm not really looking for a game with really complex combat, honestly the simpler the better.

poe isn't infinity engine or even close to it, it's rebalanced so everyone not just mages/clerics/bards have to use skills

and if IE games or POE are too complex for you then I wouldn't recommend anything in the Divinity series, you're better off playing some pozzed nubioware shit like Mass Effect or Dragon Age

I'm aware PoE isn't infinity engine but its combat is essentially the same as classic IE games.

And I seriously doubt there's no other rpgs that don't have combat systems similar to those games.

2 is fine but the armor styles just seemed so fucking gross to me. Usually I don't let graphics stop me from enjoying a game, but when I was playing all the clothes that you customize your character with just looked awful.

Even the end game stuff looked gross. It Made me feel like I wasn't actually growing stronger as a character through the game.

Divinity OS has a lot of content, great combat, great cities and map to get lost in and explore and a lot of characters. But the story is meh. So if you don't mind the main plot being a bit boring the series is amazing.
