I've seen this series mentioned a number of times before, and since I plan on importing a bunch of nip PS3 games, I wanted to ask about it.
What is this and what do you do in it?
Looking at the wiki, it's a pretty long series, so if anyone has played it, I'd appreciate hearing about which games to look into and which ones to avoid.

This is a bit spoonyfeedy but you are a cute girl and you make items with alchemy with a time limit on the jobs, the version in your image is one of the last ones that is actually quite harsh with the time limit although if you are playing the plus version they toned it down, which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you like your games.

If you're okay with time limits I hear Ayesha is good but I started with Rorona and had no issues besides the time limit not being something I enjoy in the slightest

I don't really like the harsh time limits but without them these games are just kind of shit subpar jrpgs with cute girls, which is fine I suppose but minmaxing for all the different endings is legit fun in the earlier titles and that completely vanishes in the later ones.

Rorona Plus is great. It's one of my favourite games full stop. Totori is also great and while I don't dislike Meruru, one of the changes to a character really rubbed me the wrong way and I can't get over it. Good trilogy over all.

its a point based time limit. Whenever you travel, for example, you use up time, so you can't go and fully explore a region before or in the middle of doing your objective. In Rorona you get given an assignment every 3 months and need to finish it within that time or your shop gets closed down.

I'd highly recommend Escha & Logy if you're looking for an easier Atelier game. It's fun, the alchemy is fun to learn how to abuse and get the most out of, and most of all, the time limits barely bothered the experience–they were pretty generous, especially at the end.
You don't get the true endings without playing both protagonists, though, but you can play as either Logy or Escha in any order.

This is why Mana Khemia is better. The time limit is based on main story progression. So long as you don't do the main story objectives, you can explore at your leisure or gather ingredients for gear.

It was made in VX Ace, so you can MTL it with Translation Aggregator or VNR just fine which is good enough to work out what's going on. I enjoyed it just fine this way.

You can get a Vita for $120, an adapter for $3 and a 64GB sd card for $25, hacking it takes no effort and can be done in 5 minutes, alternatively you can buy a Vita TV for $50 and use any usb drive/HDD you have laying around for storage, hacking it is even easier since new units come with the best firmware already, the only other thing you need is a dualshock 3, but you might already have one, if not then pawnshops are your best choice, i've seen a lot of them go for 10 bucks.

I just tried to play the translation of Marie on the PS2 and it was kind of dull. You can really move much without getting the shit beat out of you by bandits, and you have to keep your sickly friend with you keeping up a party slot if you want the good endings. I played for an hour and got bored of the pace and inconsistency of the missions offered. Do I say fuck it and move to Iris?
