I made a CD a long time ago with UT99 and all the mods I had already installed. On Windows 7 I can drag and drop the whole folder onto my hard drive and then start playing. No install required.

On windows 10 it crashes everytime and I have to install the steam version.

This is wrong. I bought the B350 Asus motherboard at the beginning of the year and they still have windows 7 drivers for it. I even slipstreamed the drivers into a windows 7 installation disc for the motherboard.

Maybe. Sometimes games get a linux port before a crack and as there is no denuvo for linux those versions get cracked right away (DE:MD was cracked on linux before windows)

Make an effort to solve the issue yourself, then if you're stuck- ask how to precede to solve the issue yourself. If your lucky someone may just give you the answer.

The only major issue you might have is the main answer will probably be "just use Linux" or "just use old hardware".

This is why it's usually better to use the previous stable Windows release instead of the newest one. Currently, Win 7 and Win 8.1 aren't too bad. I use Win 8.1 at the moment, even though the "start menu" sucks ass. Otherwise, I've had no issues with the OS. It has been quite stable and reliable for gaming purposes.

For older games there is GOG if you don't like it for some reason you will need to find other people that don't to help you with emulator or something

There is probably a number of emulator from people that care ,you can also try "run in compatibility with X" but that probably won't help

Having that out of the way,If you are using an Intel chip it doesn't really matter if it's W7/8 or 10 , that stuff is hardware bugged by the jews and probably has some magic wi-fi too ,Other bullshit is Hardware Locking ,I am pretty sure the 2/3 new Intel lines won't boot on anything else than 10 ,Meaning you can do it with people help-but you probably loose warranty and knowing the jews break about 10 laws

Basics:

-Don't be a stupid nigger ,if you do torrents only use legit ones ,don't download bunch of stupid shady shit , don't open .exe images

-Click No on everything and recheck

-Windows 10 app manager Uninstall all , the programs and features don't even allow you to uninstall the apps

-Ultimate Windows Tweaker so that you can actually select No on everything

-In task manager options select "always on top" or if anything crashes it will be above it and you won't be able to kill it , Startup got moved here from ms.config

-In start you have to type in "Control Panel" do get access to it and some more useful setting , on first visit switch from "group" to "large/small icons" to see it all

-I use Avast Free ,Rouge Killer,CCleaner and AdwCleaner regularly-Mostly because I assume Facebook 4/8 Chan install bitcoin miners every time I visit them ,and it doesn't cost or hurt to do cleaning

-I also have a habit of manually going through my driver looking for stuff I don't know , AppData,Program Files , User Temporary Files , Local ,Local Low , Roaming (if you ever run a game trace will be there even after you delete it)

-Keep all driver up to date ,Use DDU to remove graphics drivers,Bios up to date is really important

Cosmetics(personal preference may wary so don't even start writing that angry reply):

-Classic Shell if you want to make it look like other verions

-I use Honeyview because it plays gifs better and doesn't see MP4 as an image

-MPC Mega pack for video

-Aimp 3 for music

-4K downloader for getting stuff from YouTube

-MSI Afterburner for OC

Does it play games , yes ,Better than 7-I don't know ,Will (((they))) put as much hardware and software behind "Works with Windows 10 only" ,yes they fucking will that's how the entire market works to make people buy new stuff
