I only play the shitty ones where you gamble for porn instead of some shitty jpg. And then lose all my free jems trying to get the waifu (ver: waifu) during the annual waifu event. Here's hoping I'll get her next year.

Sometimes it's fun to see how far you can get in a Gacha game without spending a single cent. You will inevitably hit a wall, and anything remotely related to pvp 'content' will almost certainly be out of reach thanks to whales, but there can be a small joy in overcoming challenges with your team of 3 star or low rarity crap that the game threw at you for free.

National pride, no joke. They see that kind of stuff as "our shit" and whenever they do some promotion with a Japanese brand it just fans the flames. Koreans like to get mad at it and then watch state sponsored Overwatch tournaments because Korea doesn't actually make anything themselves.

Prolly like Western normalfags they supposedly "don't have the time" to invest in regular videogames (either get overworked by salaryman/karoshi culture or are NEETs throwing their lives and parents' allowances away) and gachas are entry-tier in investment to get started and maintain. Kinda like how manga is popular because you can read it on the train and then throw it away.

Also there's the usual chink bullshittery of farming accounts to sell. Idk if the big ones have implemented measures against thst kind of nonsense (banning the obvious operations, that brand of enforcement).

Slightly related, I really do believe there's a way to make the "Gatcha" format fun and not completely terrible but the nip gatcha devs seem to be allergic to creativity or experimentation.
