LISA the Painful
You dont need to play LISA the first, its only good as a backstory to Painful to be aware of. In the first you play as a young girl named Lisa as she imagines her escape from her abusive father, every character she meets is wearing his face except for a very phallic looking man that you have to cut every time that you meet him. If you get the secret ending you unlock a memory of your mother, as you walk up to her she turns around and she too is wearing the face of your father and says that you can never escape and then the whole floor turns into a blurred vision of his face.
The hanged girl you see at the start screen of Painful is Lisa, and you play as her brother whose whole life has been shaped by what happened to his sister.

Year Walk is pretty depressing as far as a love story can go. Especially when you start piecing things together.
Killer7 is at times disturbing, but the ending is still one of the biggest gut punches I've ever seen.
Drakengard 1 and the first Nier are also pretty much 'fuck you for trying.'
