>Black has great specials, with a bunch of characters having two, and Sweet Tooth becoming a mech.
That's not a refutation of my statement.
>Mr. Slamm having the coolest special by far in the games he's in.
He is not in the game, and that's not the only type of special that there is less of.
>But Black isn't "worse."
Sure, but then again it isn't
>extremely similar to before, only improved
either.
>but getting mad about the characters?
I'm not being mad about the characters in general, but in the context it really doesn't sit well.
>>15308147
> are you trying to shit on their size or something?
That and
> the stages are a bit uninspired
thus they are bigger and blander, making them less concise, forcing you to take longer to get anywhere and do anything, while being that much less fun inbetween. I'm not saying that this isn't serviceable for the game, I'm saying it's just simply worse than how it was.
>this would be an issue if the five cars with this feature had their special act the exact same
No, it is an issue simply because it's less varied than the original and is pretty close to just being uninspired. No matter how you coat it, it is still a homing missile that could've been anything else.
>furthermore the "subculture" characters are bound to be shitty stereotypes
No, they are bound to be stereotypes, which is just a tool that's better at exploring the make a wish thing, than the story packed Black's characters. Again, going back to
>extremely similar to before, only improved
It's not.
>what, weapon variety is improved over tm2
So you are going that far back when it suits you, but when even tm2 had more variety in specials you are just going to say that 5 homing missile ones are fine?
>you mean the gameplay in this game got better?
If you are going to put words in my mouth, then go all in, like you also forgot to say that I'm also implying that the game became also substantially better looking. It wouldn't reflect reality, but hey, you've got your point across, right?
No, car handling isn't the prime benefactor for the gameplay quality, it's a safeguard for a game to not be shite right from the start, it's a basic characteristic the game has to get right before building everything else on top of it. If you've laid down a base for a skyscraper, but build just a shed on top of it, your shed would have that much more support from falling apart, but it's still just a shed.
>especially compared to tm4 which had a completely trash theme as it was nothing like tm2
How does a theme correlates with gameplay? How does a theme being better or worse correlates with car handling of 4 being worse than in 2? How does gameplay correlates with a theme? Or did you just simply pull this big of a non sequitor out of your ass just to make a completely asinine point about how 4 is shit?
>made by people who failed to comprehend the first games?
>at least black tried something different
So 4, paying tribute to the series by upping everything up while switching minute details here and there so as to not be stale is completely failing to understand the series.
But Black going a completely different direction into the realistic territory, while dumbing everything down (probably because of the former) the series have gained up until that point, regressing to the point of tm2 (or to potentially even tm1 in some respects) is not?
Nevertheless, it's still within the range of that non sequitor, thus this is less about how any of that is right or wrong, but how long of a shit you are pulling out of your ass.
