V3 is awful

I'm totally fine admitting I really like Danganronpa, I am 27,not trans or a woman or gay

But v3 is some awful trash on so many levels, its basically stand alone and nearing on fanfiction tier and ends on a "lol none of this is real and Masafumi Takada doesn't want to work on this series anymore"

If you want the full story, the spin off, and then the Danganronpa 3 anime are necessary.

The 3 Anime isn't the same thing as V3, it's another story that's the more direct sequel to 1, 2 and despair girls.

The Anime has a weird watching order too, there's two arcs, "future" and "despair", and the intended watching order is future1>despair1>future2>despair2 and so on, until you finish them both, then you watch an OVA called danganronpa 2.5, then you watch the final anime episode "hope arc".

Now leave this thread before you're spoiled further because faggots itt don't seem to know that this exists.

You can, but you shouldn't bother with it or UDG in the first place. I really hope Kodaka find the opportunity to do something new, he seems to really not want to work on this shit anymore. DR1 was a self contained story that needed no sequel, the only possible sequel that would have made sense in that universe that wouldn't have to be heavily focused on the tragedy/greatestmostawful… garbage is DR2, he chose the single possible way of explaining how a situation like DR1 would occur again and everything other than the first two has been trash. The tragedy stuff was never intended to be fully explained, evidenced by the fact that when they did try to explain it, we got an absolute trainwreck (DR3).

The series would have been a lot better (and friendlier to sequels) if they had set it up as a fucked up game show in a setting like Oryx and Crake, the meme apocalypse does nothing but distract from the focus of the story.

This post pre-dates V3 but apparently you want to play UDG before 2. I mean, if you intend to play V3 then I don't understand your hang-up over UDG because V3 got plenty of hate, while UDG is not good but it is playable. Also opportunity to hang around with the psycho book girl is never amiss.

While it is the chronological order, UDG reveals a lot of shit that is supposed to remain unknown when diving into 2. Part of the mistery of 2 is not knowing what the fuck happened between 1 and 2.
