OP here. This is a bit of a shitposty thread but I'm serious. I'm really interested in what people find as their ideal game.
Be as verbose as possibly, specifically mentioning why you like what you like and games that are similar that could use improvements
Personally, my ideal would be a warband where every aspect of the game was improved. It's a very fun game but unfortunately everything falls a little short of great besides the combat, even though it could be improved. Warband with a better economy, with better graphics, with more exploration of cities and towns and other locations, with a very in depth and branching story, etc… And battles with 500+ people.
It would be the perfect balance between story/immersive experience, strategy and macro management and fun action.

An arcade-only rhythm-based fighting game in which every character is a monster girl with a different kind of musical instrument (with the exception of some that use some sort of singing technique) that they use to magically channel their powers, among other powers, in unique ways (think the scene with the guzheng in Kung Fu Hustle but with a less limited moveset). The controls are complicated enough that each player is given both a joystick and a set of about four rows of organ-like keys with about 24 keys per row, along with three gameplay-oriented pedals each as well as a "taunt" pedal for those who wish to simply play music during the fight without activating any attacks or "block moves" that the lowest keys would provide. The main character is to be a small-chested shabti from an ancient Egyptian tomb with a ney as her instrument while the final boss is to be an Israeli lilim with some sort of clarinet and a klezmer-based musical theme for her stage, thus symbolically establishing the game's canon as a battle between a golem and jew. Many of the rest of the characters would also touch on various stereotypes or parodies, such as a French carcolh girl with a serpent instrument (carcolhs are French snail-snake monsters), a massive-tittied wedding processionist Norwegian hulder girl with a hardinger fiddle, a Romanian pricolici thongleotard superheroine that uses one of those big Romanian panpipes and whose moveset is significantly a parody of how much of Romanian culture treats Dracula as a hero, a ropen girl from Bougainville of Papua New Guinea that plays a thongophone to channel her luminescence in an elaborate parody of Blue Man Group, a Saudi Arabian houri that looks like houris are actually described in Islamic lore and follow the middle eastern acapella tradition because musical instruments outside of drums are haram, a four-headed cherubim loli from Vatican City that sings in operatic voice tones, a mongolian death worm girl that uses mongolian throat singing, and more.

The only real way to simulate magic in a way that would allow for player freedom is one games have been doing forever, by structuring the majority of it like code, with a multitude of variables that the player decides
Personally, I would want tons of variables and customizations, from the symbols and frameworks used to comprise the spell, to the medium with which you use to cast it
Games have done stuff like that before, but the bigger problem is if all this was in a vacuum, with you just being handed all the stuff you need to use it and given an empty room to fuck around with it in, it'd be boring as shit, so you'd need a world filled with locations to explore, systems to fuck with, and things to progress towards, and that's a retarded amount of work if you actually want the systems to work with each other in an engaging way
Like, for example, you can't properly live out the fantasy of a wizard living in a tower outside a village, helping people out in return for them not fucking with you while you do your research, if there's not also a meaningful simulation of the villagers and their needs, and the kinds of things that would affect them from both the environment and your experiments
And that goes for everything else, if something is to be possible with a system, all the other related systems need to be fleshed out to the point where the main system doesn't feel shallow

You would be playing as human mercenaries working for a corporation that has a claim to the world, you would be able to choose the mercs and corporation at the start, which would give you different bonuses, playstyles, and objectives. The early game would involve you clearing areas setting up resource gathering machines to obtain materials that you can sell to your client to meet quotas and gain money, or use to power up your own team. The mid game would be defending these areas, pushing to other areas, further powering up your units, and responding to the planet's evolving efforts to destroy you. The late game would involve finding a way to completely subvert or destroy the planet's consciousness, leaving it mostly defenseless.
Your main base would be a space station orbiting the planet that you can build and add on to as the game progresses.

A decent combat flight simulator where:
>You fly with a squadron and are expected to be a part of that squadron, not just a plane shooting planes.
>There's no gimmicky multiplayer shitting up the game with whiny requests to balance things in order to compensate for babby's lack of skill and tactical nous.
>A campaign that takes place in a persistent world which encompasses actual, historical operations performed in a realistic way while tracking events and reflecting the situation according to mission outcomes.
>More focus is put on world building and aircraft simulation than on graphics, gimmicky physics engines that use too much processing overhead and post processing effects that belong in the trash in the age of injectors like sweetFX etc.
>Visible and physically significant wear and tear on aircraft that includes consultation with ground crews as a part of aircraft management.
>Increase in rank means an increase in responsibility, mission planning, logistics, personnel management etc. You'll be expected to lead instead of paint kill markings on your plane.
>The ability to paint kill markings on your plane as well as customisation appropriate to the airforce you join.
>Artificial intelligence that has an instinct for self preservation, can be demoralised, is cunning, is diversely skilled and can do more than turn in circles. AI that focuses on completing its' mission instead of acting as a badly coded target drone.
>Anti aircraft fire that comes up in volume instead of a handful of laser accurate bots that magically hit you every time you fly near them.
>Damage modelling that has more depth than "lol you're utterly deprived of this system now because some arbitrary criteria has been met."

Macro-heavy RTS with a strong focus on R&D and developping new units to counter an enemy. Game includes hundreds of prebuilt units plus a detailed unit editor, allowing you to customize appearance, squad size, and level of technology- you can make your default infantry have jetpacks and nuclear autocannons, sure, but they're going to be more expensive than hordes of basic unarmored dudes with bolt-action rifles. Army composition is highly flexible, allowing you to field all-aircraft or all-vehicle armies, or armies focused on extremely small numbers of powerful units, or armies composed of mostly support units backing up one or two big frontline units.
Combat is all about figuring out what technology your enemy is using and customizing new units on the fly to counter it. You can semi-automate certain basic commands, like 'gather units here' or 'hold this area' to give you time to drop back into the unit editor and make modifications via a tech tree system, with the tech tree defined by what units your army was initially composed of. If you capture or adequately damage certain enemy units you can spend ingame resources to reverse-engineer their equipment and gain access to parts of their tech tree.
I'm sure it would be hopelessly complicated, but dammit I just want an RTS where I can customize the type and combat style of every single squad and tank and artillery piece in my army, like Dawn of War on a grander scale.

Basically the premise would be similar to Guardianj legend / Guardic Gaiden aka STG and regular exploration levels intertwined along the whole game and a cutie mechgirl that can tun into a spaceship
But, instead of having a RPGfied progression with XP/HP/Levels I'd go with something closer to a simple upgrade system like DMC but more limited in scope don't wanna make something like that about avatar progression instead of player progression
Instead of having a NES-tier shmup I 'd go with something not quite bullet hell but closer in scope to Layer Section (Rayforce and the sequels) with a basic weapon system similar to Alltynex 2nd including the melee stuff (basically press the basic attack button of a form of attack to switch to that then once you're in a form you have a special attack button that does something different based on the form), the life system wouldn't be a regular lifebar either but more along the line of a shield that can take X amount of hits that you can upgrade or one tat can take a single one but then recharges slowly that you can make faster through upgrade or maybe a mix of the two, not sure if I'd include a proper scoring system (those are way hard to do and need the proper level design to support them too) or some bullet cancelling abilities (although I'm guessing some skill based melee parrying wouldn't be too bad but that would also mean thinking about a projectile properties system instead of just making everything more or less the same outside of shape and behavior).
For the exploration side I'd have to go with something closer to the original DMC for the basic combat maybe slightly simpler but with actual traversal upgrades and not just doublejump / keys would also try to avoid it the Super Metroid syndrome of "X weapon for Y door" but not sure actual puzzles would go over well in something that action oriented.
Then for the bosses I'd have something that a mix of the two meaning that the ones from the STG segments would have phases dedicated to close range only where you're basically floating around in humanoid form trying to slice the fucker / parrying his projectiles whereas the exploration part bosses would give you the ability to go with some partial or full transformation back to hip mode in combat similar to Transformer devastation would probably have to use a shitty excuse to not let the player do that in regular exploration mode
Even If I bothered doing hat I could never do the concept justice…
honestly, this actually is the game I want to make. I'm a student though and working on my game from scratch in my spare time but what I've got so far is:
The game is set in the future where the exponential growth of technology and automation alongside stagnation of human intelligence resulted in mass unemployment and poverty. The unintelligent and unemployable masses have taken to insurgency and seek to overthrow the current system, primarily maintained by the new working class (those employed as technicians and software developers).
You play as a faceless test-tube baby, a super human bred as part of a eugenics program to try and combat intellectual stagnation. The program has been cut short though due to the success of the insurgency and the government has decided it would be best to turn you into super soldiers instead.
The nation is completely divided, with a large percentage of government and new worker forces defecting to support those impoverished. Entire cities now belong to the insurgency and many radical groups are working out of underground cells within government-controlled cities. You and other members of your eugenics program are now tasked with launching counter-insurgent operations missions to take out various targets in an XCOM like planning mixed with a SWAT 4-like CQB tactical shooter. You will perform snatch and grabs, assassinations, sabotage, black bag operations and more.
The politics in the game are quite complex because many people will feel quite divided between supporting the oppressed masses vs the genetic-superiority-toting state. It's very different to most messages in media today that's always just "underdog good, superior man bad"
There's a reason why even the great ganddaddy of video game mages, D&D, established the idea that wizards do all that complicated prep work shit in advance and then set up their prepared spells so that they just need a few final hand gestures or trigger words to make the spell go off. Because the idea of doing that shit in the middle of combat is insane. You're effectively asking for a game where you have to do a tedious hacking/lock picking style minigame (in real time) to do any sort of attack while avoid attacks and trying not to die.
Now maybe a game where you play a vancian wizard and you actually have to do all that spell prep workin detail before an adventure instead of the usual "click on a icon in your spell book to add it to your spellslot" shit could be an interesting game, but not trying to do it in the middle of a fight. Combine Mount and Blade, Pokemon, and Monster Rancher.
In order to subdue monsters you have to wrassle them Steve Irwin style, after subdued they must be trained to not attack you at first chance, then more training to accept your commands. Monsters can be bred, with each generation being born with greater tamed levels, in trade off monsters bred must be age and be cared for before being of use. There's a small chance of mutations happening, such as cosmetic and stat gains/losses.
On the world map you can build various facilities, like; monster housing (no pokeballs or PCs, you must have somewhere to keep them), holding pens (place to keep untamed monsters and tame them), farms (to either put your monsters to work, grow food to feed herbivorous monsters, or grow food to sell for profit), ranches (same as farms, here you grow and slaughter monsters for meat), and zoos (allow you to showcase your prized monsters).
The goals of players could be; Become the best there ever was, breeding for whatever monsters they want, becoming rich off of your farms/ranches, sink their autism into their zoo, or take over the map with their monsters.

Basically I just want an Elder Scrolls game that is actually good. A large open world in an intriguing fantasy setting where the motto of "Be anyone, do anything." isn't routinely stomped on by incompetent design and shitty writing. I'd just want a good open world with solid exploration, quality quests to discover and complete with actual choice and branching paths tense combat, and plentiful customization. I want a game where I can decide to be a sneaky backstabby assassin for a hundred hours, and then start fresh as a warrior and crown myself king of the land via conquest in the next. Also the immersive sense of detail needs to be intact, while there are now many new open world RPGs on the market, there's still not a single competitor that allows me to walk into a shop, knock all of the shit off the shelves, and steal all the forks. Only Bethesda games do that, and it fucking sucks.

Basically Morrowind but with more life sim elements and a procedurally generated world.
Another way to describe it would be minecraft with plot, NPCs, and slightly less autism. There would be the authored plot (main quest, major factions/guilds, some international conflicts) and generated plot (Go to local notice board and pick up a quest to: go to X and collect Y number of Zs, go to A and kill B without getting caught, deliver message X to person Z, etc, etc.)
As for the life sim elements, think sims 2 but more fleshed out, actual words instead of "bippity boppity shoopity doppity! HAHA!" Making friends with person/faction A changes person/faction B's view of you. Marriage, biological children (none of that adoption BS in skyrim,) stuff like that.
Last thing I can think of off the top of my head would be some kickass character customization. If I want to play anything from Alpha-bro the barbarian face-puncher of Tzcara, to Zack the mild mannered wizard that is polite but will vaporize your soul if you piss him off. I should be able too. I should be able to play non-human races if they exist in the lore. Also there should be non-human races in the lore.

>Press cast button
>You can now type a spell, or press dodge button to dodge & cancel
>ignis ignis mortem sagitta
>Hit enter, sending out a giant flaming arrow
Could be fun, but the focus on the game might end up being on dodging attacks, rather than attacking.

Arcade-style FPS of about 50 minutes long where you play as a cybernetic valkyrie from Mars who has to reclaim the Earth from the rampant AI residing in the core of the Earth who eradicated all humans and let loose all kinds of robots on the world who have begun to form shamanistic tribes to keep out intruders such as yourself. The tribes of Earth have built a giant fucking cannon which is planning to destroy Mars within the hour, so you have to get to the core and cut out its power supply. You yourself are silent, but all your weapons are infused with personalities and the only characters in the game you can actually understand.
All enemies are entirely projectile-based. Enemies are few in numbers, but more responsive in terms of AI and more highly mobile. Enemy projectiles are often very wide and can't be strafed around, so instead you need to either jump over or slide under them depending on the elevation of the projectile. Alternatively you can also dash in any direction which you can use to dash through projectiles because you're invulnerable while dashing, but dashing is limited by an energy gauge which refills over time. You can also dash into enemies to stagger them, and finishing off weakened enemies by directly ramming into them also grants you additional weapon EXP.
You have four weapons, and each weapon has a primary fire, an alternate fire, an unique melee attack, and both fire modes can be charged for additional effect (melee attacks can be charged as well). Some weapon fire modes have different useful properties depending on how much you charged them. You can charge the primary fire while attacking normally with your uncharged secondary fire. Dashing also cancels any ongoing charge you have, so you have to dodge bullets without dashing as a handicap if you want to charge properly. Charges aren't canceled if you dash when you are fully charged, but if you hold your charge for too long without firing or switching to another weapon it will overheat and drain the weapon's level. Your charge gauge persists between weapons, but with a weapon-dependent penalty, so if you charge to 50% using one weapon and switch to another, that weapon will start charging from 30%. Additionally, if you charge your primary and secondary fire on a weapon simultaneously to their maximum and then perform a melee attack, you will perform a powerful super attack, but it drains the levels of your weapon.
Weapons have infinite ammo, but they can be upgraded from LV1 to 3 or 5 (depending on the weapon) by killing enemies or finding energy pick-ups. Alternatively, the weapons you currently don't have equipped will automatically but slowly gain EXP. With each level they will gain increased firepower or other minor properties such as increased shot width or number of projectiles per shot. Using a fully charged shot reduces the level of your weapon by one, whereas using a super attack reduces your weapon back to LV1. But often super attacks are worth it, as kills performed using charged attacks or super attacks gives you a bonus score multiplier, and you get additional health for every million points or so as health pick-ups are incredibly rare. Not all super attacks are necessarily 'attacks'. One can give you a massive damage boost, which you can then in turn chain with super attacks of other weapons, another can give you temporary flight (on top of a temporary supercharged weapon).
Level design is incredibly linear to place the emphasis on speed and constant action. There is zero exploration. There's a timer constantly ticking down starting from 100 seconds, and it is only refilled by killing mini-bosses or passing through a checkpoint. If the timer reaches zero, your health will quickly whittle down. Most levels consist of arenas or either tube shooter sections of sorts. In arenas, enemies will constantly spawn around you and you have to kill them as quickly as possible, but for the tube shooter sections you just have to get to the next checkpoint as quickly as possible while dealing with any incoming enemies blocking your path.
You can also shift your point of gravity so you can walk on the ceiling instead of the floor, and vice versa. This is useful when enemies perform attacks which destroy the floor underneath you or send giant pillars of flame at you which can not be reasonably jumped over or slid under or strafed around. Sometimes both the floor and ceiling will disappear, so you will just have to wallrun until you find a solid surface. Some enemies also have weakspots which are either on top of or beneath them, so you need to get above or beneath them to get some hits in. Enemies can also walk on ceilings, and they can also shift their own point of gravity.
59cf7d No.15247073
>>15247072
Weapons which fire bouncing projectiles will bounce along the ceiling or floor depending where they bounce first. You also have a powerful homing seeker missile, but it first attaches itself to the floor you're standing on and then quickly tracks anything in sight which the enemy can avoid by reversing their own gravity. If you then fire a blob of area-denying acid above them and then a seeker missile on the floor they're standing on, they just might end up shifting into the pool of acid you set up. As later non-fodder enemies will have frontal shields equipped which renders them invulnerable to your standard hitscan attacks, so you'll have to get more tricky until you can disable their shields or by hitting them from the flanks.

A singleplayer-focused game that mostly takes place in isolated areas where you face off against the future of the planet - cyborgs, demons, rogue factions, cults, etc.
Preferably first person, and the game also makes it look realistic when the enemies are attacked and when you are attacked, but not so realistic that you don't have a chance.
All the energy of development and production will go to the singleplayer aspect, with a multiplayer option also available, but that can be worried about later.
It would also be cool if you could do stealth operations in populated areas where these enemies reside, as a rare change from the isolated areas the game mostly takes part in.

But good anime have a unique system that would easily make a cool game mechanic. For example, you can't make a JoJo game without stands, which on it's own is already something unique, and even still, every stand has a unique power
>The stand that latches onto someone's back, and if you look at their back it kills the host and jumps onto you. If you tell anyone about it, you also die.
>That stand that erases matter, so you can make holes in walls or pull someone closer to you buy erasing the air between you
>That stand that's a cursed sword that controls you, and it can selectively become ethereal so you can effectively attack people through pillars and walls and shit
Then there's Crazy Diamond, which alone you could build a whole game around with- It can rewind the state of anything it punches back to it's "fixed" form or even alter it. Someone could break a bridge, and if a piece fell down, you could punch it, and then jump on top to ride it as the bridge becomes fixed. You could punch someone's face and restructure it so that they can sneak into somewhere unrecognized. You could tear a piece of someone's clothing, and the punch it so that that the piece goes back toward them, essentially acting as a tracking device. You could break something so that you could fit it through a small hole, and then reform it on the other side.
Shit, you could base a whole entire game around any stand, the ideas are endless. It's like you haven't even watched JoJo.

I'm already making my dream game, but one idea that I'll regrettably never be able to realize in my life is a sort of sandbox Runescape.
Basically, it's a MMORPG similar to Runescape, except with more features geared towards "emergent gameplay" and player interaction and roleplaying, and fun features that just make the game a more fun place to be. For example I'd want you to be able to bury items in any tile on the ground, and interact with every storage-type furniture in the game world, and all of those items will be shared across all players. I'd want people to be able to draw images and write notes/books, and put them in a library in the game where other players can read/buy copies of them. I want the game world to be tile-based, so an admin could run an event where they interact with the environment in real time and enemies can destroy walls and stuff. Then have special PVP servers where players can interact with the map and build shit anywhere using a construction skill.
Farming slots can be rented by players and each slot can only be used by one player at a time.
Some houses in big cities are auctioned each month for players/guilds, and they can freely set up the furniture or shops and whatever they want into it using relevant skills.
There's no ingame map, rather the players can draw and trade them and put the item into their minimap slot.
Fishing skill lets you cast your fishing rod literally anywhere, and it will grab onto items.
Cutting down a tree makes it fall to the ground and remain as an agility obstacle until properly harvested.
Ore veins must be first found by prospecting the ground, and can then be mined out by everyone after found.
You can name crafted items, tweak the stats during a crafting "minigame", and use an enchanting skill to place magical/elemental effects or curses into them.
Pets need food to live, will grow stronger and evolve over time, can be traded to other players, and ridden if they're big enough.
Mobs will occasionally attack nearby cities in groups, or may detach from their natural spawn point and become wandering mobs who can go anywhere.
Some mobs can be deliberately lured out of their spawn point by certain items or methods.
There's a special energy similar to Runescape's prayer points, except you replenish it by resting on benches/beds or in front of a campfire, or drinking expensive potions.
Mobs may pick up items from the ground (including items you dropped on death), and will drop them once killed.
I have so many ideas I could write a design document out of this.

Eternal Darkness in the modern era, with the adventuring and combat happening in dreams. The entire game is an exploration of the dangers of cognitive dissonance and excessively out-of-the-box thinking.
The entire story is based around a freshman student at a liberal college studying art–painting, drawing, sculpting, etc. As the year drags on, she experiences recurring nightmares that only grow stranger and more intense with time; the puzzles get more non-sensical, and the strange shit she experiences in her dreams, combined with numerous real-life tragedies only serve to isolate her and drive her insane.
The story of this game would be a tragedy in the classic sense. This game will not have a happy ending; the main character will be broken down between death in the family, assault, being raped, being effectively disowned by her friends and her college, that she will eventually experience hallucinations and commit suicide.
Each week for an entire college year, you experience a new "dream sequence" level, and each night, the level is procedurally generated so that it's never the same between weeks. If the level isn't beaten by the last day of the week, the game defaults to a pre-generated level that is tested and guaranteed to be beatable prior random iterations of the level being potentially unbeatable is possible, and just feeds further into the madness.
It doesn't have to be strictly Lovecraftian monsters, especially since all the strange shit is in dreams, but it can still take some major cues from the source.

I guess Heritage for the Future just doesn't exist? It has time stopping, puppetry, a gun that shoots bullets you can control, and a character who's axe makes you younger. Sure, some powers are a bit limited since it's a fighting game, like Kakyoin doesn't take over people's bodies, but the stand mechanic alone sets it apart from other fighting games (you lose stand meter as you take damage, so you have to hide your stand to recharge it, if you lose all your meter you "crash" and become vulnerable. Having your stand out also gives you different normals and a double jump), but there's no reason they couldn't implement more powers, and do it a little more faithfully in a JoJo game if it was a 3d action game or something.
Just what the hell exactly is "impossible" about this?
>the point of which are supposed to have crazy weird powers so fights end with the most ridiculous and out of the box problem solving

If your term means "within the realm of what is possible in the video game," discovered or undiscovered, intended or unintended, then you will truly be unable to find a game that lets you play "outside of the box."
If I have misunderstood what you mean, please explain it to me.

4K HD GTAV style graphics with San Andreas gameplay, and a slightly smaller (smaller than San Andreas), but a lot more interactive map. Example: You can go into nearly every building, certain destructible environments, map changes when you destroy shit, like construction workers, so you can steal a bulldozer to run over niggers.
But instead of playing as a nigger in a nigger oriented game, you customize your character. You go around killing niggers, faggots, gingers, traps, spics, mudslimes, liberals, good goys, and jews, for your ultimate goal of ethnic cleansing and getting rich at the same time.
Houses and vehicles are completely customizable. You can even decorate all of your walls with portraits of degenerate anime hentai pics like the filthy weeb faggot that you are.
Tons of fucking mod support, play online with private servers, no official servers. Software to run your own server is supplied, like in the old days. Meaning modded servers is possible. Like play in an 80's style/Vice City map while blaring out 80's music.
It's GTA: Ethnic cleansing.

This, but I want there to be many giant mythological monsters that have monster hunter-like depth of moves/mechanics and the player character has access to 10+ weapon types that are all as complex as monhun weapons. If you capture the creatures from the wild, you can fight them in an arena to grind for their mats and make better armor/weapons.
Story wise, maybe you're Jason or Hercules charged with clearing Greece (or the larger world) of giant monsters after they spawned from Pandora's box. I wouldn't limit the mythical beasts to just greek myth, throw in as much variety as a megaten game.
So, monhun combat and monsters + zelda dungeons and puzzles + dark souls 1 style interconnected world + greek/norse/persian/etc mythology and cryptids = GOAT

So interestingly enough, there is a game with some elements of this. Wurm Online/Unlimited allows some players to become priests which gives them special powers in exchange for no longer being able to do some activities specific to the god you choose to follow.
You need the villagers (actual players) to do some things for you and back you up so that you can get better at casting spells, which depending on your chosen god, could you make you more powerful as a battle priest, or more useful for your utility spells.
It's not a perfect analogue by any means, but it's something that could be built off of.

A game that outwardly appears to be a generic fantasy D&D-type game but you can't play as a warrior, mage, or thief. Instead, your three choices are envoy, summoner, and acrobat. These three classes have completely different methods of gameplay. If you choose the envoy, your game will revolve mostly around negotiation, dialogue, and puzzles, basically if you pick envoy you're picking to play a graphic adventure game. If you choose summoner, you encounter monsters and creatures around the world and you have to choose whether to kill them or get them to join you, though you still have some basic dialogue and all that rpg stuff, yeah basically if you go summoner you're picking to play a pokemon/smt game. Acrobat, on the other hand, is where you have to use your athletic ability to traverse the world quickly and efficiently, moving around various obstacles and pulling off tricks. Acrobat is a tony hawk game. Board-and-sorcery. I think the real value of this game would be the replay value. Like one section would have you collecting keys through dialogue puzzles if you play envoy to get through a gate, but if you play acrobat then you could just do a sick jump over the gate to get through, and summoner could just use a worm monster to dig under the gate or a fire monster to burn the gate down. Actions would have consequences though, like if you burn that gate down you would have to deal with the villagers suddenly suffering wolf attacks that were previously stopped by that gate or something.
Also you'd also have a rival character who is capable of everything you are that you'd have to beat periodically throughout the game. It doesn't add anything I just think the Azel fight in God Hand is cool and I want more games to do stuff like that.

Play as HUNK (or a HUNK-LIKE) whose mission is to save survivors from a town. Survival horror in an open world like Silent Hill, with a small, fixed population (30-40) of roaming enemies. Each enemy is almost like its own boss, with a completely unique design, history, and moveset. Since they roam the entire world, you might encounter 2 or 3 at the same time, which causes them to gang up on you or fight each other. Most puzzles are solved organically by distracting, fighting, or circumventing a monster; no keys are necessary.
The bad ending is only to escape, good ending is rescuing all survivors.
Harder difficulties add new monsters and improve AI on existing ones. Special or arrange modes let you play as a monster or a survivor (no guns).
Gameplay is traditional survival horror with extra tactical movement improvements, to match the character being on a SWAT squad.

Highschool dating sim where the MC is a loser who travels back to his teenage years to experience things he missed out on: love, friends, etc. Being an adult in a teenager's body gives him an easier time than the first time around, since he's already educated and his social skills, while meager for an adult, are at least passable for a teenager. Plus, overall life experience gives him a better understanding of people in general.
All of the different routes involve using your adult-like mind to impress girls or boys. For example, you might impress a girl who's really into music by stealing songs from the future and claiming you wrote them. Since they don't exist yet, no one can prove you didn't make them. There'd probably be a secret route or two where you're still alone in the end, but you've been working to prevent some horrible event from happening in the future.

GOD GAME OF THE GOD GAMES
Polished super turbo multiplayer version of Populous the New Beginning with interplanet multiplayer through divine/demonic warp gates to other players planets.
Absolutely no traditional RTS mechanics or high tech shit. You just give your believers objectives, and tell them to go on a crusade, move to another planet or populate the planet. You mostly just lay back and watch the worlds burn.
Focus on planning, "theocracy tier" racing, god powers and pacts between gods. This would be a game where you see dozens of planets burn, just because that was your divine plan. Super god powers can even make planets collide and suns go supernova - small sacrifices to exterminate the heretics. Actually this sounds a lot like Populous with WH40k zeal.

Not my ideal game, but here's a dumb idea I shat out recently.
"Not - Wolfenstein x Not CustomTF"
"Class based" objective-based shooter where you can either play as a premade class or create your own class bu using traits from 3 different archetypes.
The 3 different archetypes are:
-Commandos ("Most mobility" in the form of bunnyhopping, most versatile/widest range of weaponry and abilities, can be specialized)
-Super Science (Most tanky, access to stronger weaponry and heaviest firepower, Mutations/Mechs)
-Occult (Most weird, access to magic and minions, mobiltiy in the form of flight/dashes/wall surfing, weird utility spells for creative frags/escapes, Squishiest)
Each with their own different upgrade trees/attributes, which can be reset every 10 minutes/15 lives/60 frags.
The default non-custom classes would consist of 9 different mixes between the three, such as
-Mutant/Mutants: Fast 4 armed monstrosities, with high regeneration
-Mutant/Commandos: Heavily armored tank of a man the ability to dual-wield specialized high-powered Commando weapons
-Occult Mutants: Abomination with magic tentacles
-etc.
Gameplay consists of completing objectives and scoring frags, with frags/things conducive to finishing the objective netting you currency. Currency lasts for that round only unless the nexon route is being taken.
With the currency, you're able to purchase different attributes and weapons for your class, ala CustomTF.
The story's some bullshit about how Not Germany has taken Europe over and are now warring over what direction to take the Not Reich or some shit with alternate dimensions. The plot doesn't entirely matter (aside from map aesthetics and design) because it's just an excuse to have the setting, aesthetic, and factions fighting with the same tech.

I think a Space Dandy game would be cool, I image in would be kind of like what Star-citizen and No Man's sky promised, where you're flying around the galaxy exploring unique environments and having unique encounters, but you're hunting aliens. And since alien hunting was shown to be a big profession in the series, that's the perfect excuse to make it MMO-like where there is a chance you run into other people, and that would serve as a good reason of conflict by taking the whole reward for yourself, or working together to take down a tougher alien together. As well as the Universe of space dandy you can pretty much put anything in the game as well since the show was a comedy that's the perfect opportunity for a lot of joke humor in the game. And since wee're on the topics of the shows genre mech battles could also be added to the game. Just imagine this scenario, Player A and his crew show up to hunt an alien, when they find it Player B and his crew show up, I'd imagine there be a "Possible undiscovered alien race in this area" mechanic, fighting ensues, the fight seems tough for one side so they send in there mech and seeing this so does the other side, mech fighting ensues, well this mech fighting causes the summon of another/the real new alien species which is a kaiju, so now both sides have to team up or go for a 3-way freeway brawl. So imagine No Man's Monster Hunter Star-Citizen: Anime edition.

The only thing I can think of that even came close to doing this was King's Quest III back in the good ol' days of DOS, which had a genius magic system that was immersive, clever, and doubled as the game's copy protection.
The game came with a PHYSICAL magic book that contained instructions for all the game's spells. Casting spells required you to travel the game world to pick up ingredients, put them in the cauldron (carefully following the book's instructions), and then chant the spell, which required typing the entire incantation exactly as it was written in the book. Any typos or spelling mistakes would have disastrous consequences.
Once you'd actually done that it was easier (generally this procedure resulted in creating a magic potion or talisman that you could then cast the spell just by using it), but it was a pretty cool experience.
I'd love to see something like it in a modern game. I'm kind of imagining a wizard in some kind of fantasy version of a cover shooter, hiding behind a rock to shield himself from enemy fire while he charges up and chants part two of the three part incantation required to unleash his nuclear fireball.

>Replace tribal mode with a sort of "wandering mode" were you guide a tribe as it performs it's hunter-gatherer lifestyle developing culture and eventually agriculture.
>Civ mode starts with ancient civilizations that rise and get fucked by natural disasters and the like. Millitary campaigns would be restrained by economic, diplomatic, and logistic issues(can't invade Russia bro).
>Civ mode ends with everyone coming to a nuclear standstill(or pushing the button. which will fail in certain cases). and going to space.
>Space mode would have Adora levels of detail, but with a micro-managing AI who could give directives and pre-made designs to in order to allow you to focus on the macro elements, but still have micro control if you want it.

Yoko Taro may be a plagiarist.
His sudden burst of inspiration came right after his visit to /v/.
Automata hasn't very much in common with its "prequel".
It may have been far less popular if not for the plagiarized content, look and feel. Several parts appear as if they've been duplicated with no understanding of why they're supposed to be that way.
It's clearly similar enough for people to notice, they're just doing it exclusively in his favor.
Have a gif from 2014. Notice the hair and the B&W color scheme.
I wouldn't be half as infuriated at the situation, if not for the fact that you cucks peddle Automata as some genius auteur's art project made for peanuts, calling it alternative and a whole host of other horse shit. Meanwhile, it was a joint effort between two well known corporations, delivering atrocious quality compared to what it should have been with the staff, time and budget, despite saving substantially on R&D and risk by possibly ripping off a game that actually fits the description you desperately want to slap on it. It would've been okay if you treated it as the run of the mill Plat game it is. No comments on the story because that's subjective, but I don't like it.
By the standards /v/ has been holding me up to this entire time, the game is 5/10, that 5 only being for, I guess, working most of the time, and having a few professional, yet unimpressive, assets.
Didn't stop some of you cucks from not only throwing completely false praise at it and glorifying a director who did barely any of the actual work that goes into making a game, but from also trying to memory hole the original.
The port was fucking horrible and full of what I can only call rookie mistakes. How badly do you have to fuck up your GI that it has to be turned off?

This is the prototype of the system i will be using on my game, i put on steam for free download
https://store.steampowered.com/app/759800/Everyday_Lite/
If you don't want to use the cooking system go in the mods option, there will be a village only mod i made myself, it will allow you to play fairy sim only without having to cook or feed yourself

If that anon is anything like me, he would be hoping for more of a daughteru-raising simulator where you can interact with her, take her places, and have her do stuff, sorta like Princess Maker, Wonder Project J2, or Teaching Feeling.
I can see some potential in a fairy village simulator though. I'm only seeing spreadsheets and menus on the Steam page, but hopefully there will be more depth to it in the future. Maybe take some inspiration from Kings of Dragon Pass: adding in a variety of events, artwork, and worldbuilding along with a more concrrte goal or sort of pseudo storyline to follow would be greatly beneficial. Fluff and lore helps players get more invested in the world. A way to explore the village and/or interact with the inhabitants would be nice too, but not required.

The faeries will be the equivalent of the gnomes in harvest moon, if they like you enough they will help out in the farm, i decided to add village management too so you can develop your faeries, its supposed to be a buffed up version of the Breath of Fire 3 faerie village
Adding an option to "adopt" a faerie is something i could add after the main release

Yes, putting a combat maid into an action game can only be the brain child of one nerd.

No. Fuck off with your weird fairy/pedoshit fetish. There is no conceivable way that would be fun. Keep your VN cancer out of my vidya games.

I just want a solid game where I can play as a dragon. Not a dragon knight or lizard person or dragonborn, just a vanilla dragon.

Whenever I think about a good game to make, I like to think "but what if it looked like shit"?
It's easy to design a good game which relies on a good environment and world, but it's hardest to actually implement the environment and pretty game, it seems instead you should design a game and imagine the completed product will have programmer art- if it's still good, then okay, start from there and try to make it also feel and look good, but assuming it will look good, let alone as good as you imagine, is wishful thinking.

>so I can take your idea, make lots of money off it while you stay poor and miserable
Ideas are worthless, what is valuable is the time and effort you spend on implementing, testing and polishing them. If a guy can turn an idea into a success then he has earned that even if the idea wasn't his.
So with that out of the way… My ideal game would be a chill game that's part VN, part grand strategy and part managment game. It'd be about space colonisation and it would essentially be one long balancing act, trying to keep the society stable despite growth, extreme conditions and other factors.

Basically TES II: Arena, but more character customisation, combat system like a mix between Dragon's Dogma and Dragon Age: Origins, writing like The Witcher II, and plenty of gritty realism mixed with good humour a la proper Fallout.
There have been so many decent RPGs over the years, but none of them have been 100% satisfactory due almost always to development cuts – Fallout: New Vegas and Dragon's Dogma being great examples of this.

Actually, scratch the summoner class, that would require too many gameplay elements that the envoy and acrobat classes would never interact with. Instead, how about a merchant class? Gotta manage inventory, deal with money, all the time buying and selling new products and resources and everything.

A skating game where you go around spraying over players' tags and go really fucking fast while running away from the police trying to stop you with nukes, giant death mech and napalm.
