First snake I ever saw was in my backyard as a teenager. Didn't know what it was, but we get cottonmouths around where I lived so I assumed it was venomous. I chopped its head off with a shovel.
Later I used google to try to figure out what it was. It turned out to be a harmless garter snake. I regretted it ever since.

Dogs are like kids in regards to mental development, but snakes are limited to certain instincts and don't have a solid long term memory that ensures they won't betray you when they get scared. Lizards on the other hand, the ones that are about Bearded Dragon size and higher not so much, those can actually be domesticated since they do have solid long term memory.
Snakes are some of the dumbest reptiles on earth, very small brain size. Not sure about seventy foot long anacondas, but the bigger a snake is the worse the care is. If you want a dog level snake they have to be real big and extremely long and at that size they have no obligation to see you as anything but a meal, like the whole cats are small tigers thing.
We bred dogs to be absolutely loyal, so if you want a bunch of loyal snakes, get in the breeding business and try your hand at animal eugenics, it's hard work and it took ages for dogs to stay loyal. If you want to make it work to get those snake guard dogs or snake women get that engineering started.

Here is some more…
The one thing I found irritating in the game is
1. Nearly impossible to hit enemies accurately, even at pointblank range.
2. Stupid timer that counts down in the world screen.
3. The weird electric ayy which constantly spawns new ones.
4. The amount of time it takes to end a turn. No way to fast forward it.
All of these plus some more problems really made me dislike and then drop the game.

Well fed domestic pythons wont even think about eating or attakc peopledont put a baby next to though since they are equated with your presence.
