What are your experiences working for EA and optionally from what country and building are you working from?
As a fresh information operator(game tester) let me start by saying that their rules for how you express yourself when submitting a bug are mentally fucking retarded and kills my entire spirit and motivation. I feel like I'm turning into a robot just by following their primitive speech guidelines. I hope not every game company is like this.
Second I really fucking hate their website for bug submission, it's a slow and tedious way for submitting anything more than 3 bugs. It also glitches horribly even on high-end machines. You have the usual piss poor overcomplicated design where you first need to click the edit button to start writing despite the fact you have the text box in your face with the text in it.

They say they are open to feedback but none of the shit we gave feedback on made it through the final product I actually play tested unity and I warned them that the game was way too glitchy but they relased the fucking mess you saw anyway.

Big corps are just going to be "employees are not respected, expendable and our advice is not taken into account". But then there's stories like Yanderedev and Tinybuild, where a TB coder cut down Yansim's compile time to 1/6th, and wanted to further optimize the rest of the game, but Yandev wanted to implement more retarded features and his code was so bad that they couldn't merge the two, so TB was let go and Yandev sperged out and deleted a bunch of comments on jewtube.

I once did a translation and was a community manager for a small indie freeware title, the people working on it were awesome and really friendly but I can tell you that on the one hand, being community manager means being a glorified babysitter for manchildren who will hate you if you keep everything strict and will suck your metaphorical dick if you are too lax just to get up in the rankings, and on the other hand people making contributions who are not part of the main team are some of the gayest, most autistic, most degenerate and most entitled idiots on the planet. They think the original dev teams OWES them for making a shitty graphical edit and 9 out of 10 times they're "genderfluid" or something similar. The lone modder stereotype /v/ idealizes is either dead or I never ever came across it in my time there. It's just like that Denuvo guy who could do superb shit with the whole hacking department but would still post his real life name on reddit.
There was also this one guy that was so annoying that WE bullied him out of the official forums (and yes, the moderator staff united with the shitty userbase) - TWICE - and he would still come back, only with a different kind of autism. Word of advice, if you want your indie game to be modded, don't. Or at least make a modding repository and don't let people discuss the mods.

I was offered a contract job by my teacher to do some programming for a new project they're doing. I won't say the name as it's a small company and would be somewhat easy to soft-dox myself.
For context and background, his company usually does work for other studios by going in and consulting or otherwise picking up the pieces of disaster projects that went horribly wrong due to retarded management or the like. He's done work for both small and large studios and a lot of funny stories come out of it, which he's shared in classes before.
For this, he's trying to branch out to do his own IP since while it's been very profitable for him to finish other peoples' games, it's a drag and making your own stuff is more fun. He recruited me along two other students and put us up with some of his employees and we're all cranking stuff out for that.
I don't have much to share, mostly since we actually just got started about a month ago or so. Things are just in early prototyping phase, so I can afford to be a little lazy with code working on sprints, and we're not at a completely organized model yet, just some loose meetings to catch up on what everyone's doing. We work remote too, which is nice, since as a professional lazy faggot I can't actually drive.
I suspect things will mostly pick up when we get out of prototyping phase. Most my experiences so far noteworthy came from other school projects. I could share stories on that sometime if people are interested.
The only thing that kind of really sucks is it takes time out from me when I don't have a lot of time now. Most of my time was going towards developing my /agdg/ game with a few friends. Setting up architecture and preparing business stuff for that slowed me down a lot so I've flopped on Demo Day a bit this quarter (artist has some nice stuff to show though). I've also had a death in the family that fucked me up and stopped the brakes pretty hard early in the quarter.
I've worked on a few other projects in classes and a couple outside of. I can share stories of those if anyone wants some sense of the absolute idiots you can get stuck working with in these settings. Schools have even lower barriers of entry than some of these companies. Never went to art schools though. Screw that noise.

The characters and story in the first Watch Dogs was terrible. I was surprised that somehow they made it worse with WD2. I also hate how the narrative treated the protagonists in 2 as some kind of robin hood vigilante types that righted wrongs when they were actually international terrorists who didn't give a shit who got in their way but brushed it all off with quips and pop culture references. Honestly Canada's health care is the one thing I'll defend. I was born with massive health issues and have been in and out of the hospital my whole life. I wasn't lucky enough to have responsible parents with any good income, but we didn't have to go homeless due to my health at least. Now even when I have to go in for whatever, I usually get treated very quickly, depending on where I happen to go. It largely depends on knowing which hospitals and clinics are way too packed and which aren't.
