>You still get tier-ups of vehicle as unlocks tho
Yes. You get better vehicles and weapons when obtaining weapon boxes on later missions and higher difficulties
>Its still the four classes of 4.1 right?
Yes, although they generally play differently compared to 4.1
Ranger
>can sprint with an AOE around him to pick up items
>choose between a passive ability (permanent AOE or bigger AOE, faster sprinting speed with sometimes the possibility breaking small obstacles on contact, faster rate of fire for missile weapons, etc) or a vehicle (Epsilon Railguns, Tanks, Helicopters, Bikes) that rely on fuel
>No laser guns weapons available on the base game You can get one in the 2nd missions pack DLC and it's possible to reload the ammo on this one
Wing Diver
>lot of weapons have been overhauled to rely on energy charging instead, so you can either shoot several small shots or charge up for one powerful shot or an lighting arc that last more over time
>can now evade attacks the same way a Ranger/Air Raider would do, can also be used for small boosts when flying
<D3 Publisher patched the exploit of infinite flight with the Lance Weapons (by shooting below you)
>Wing Diver has cores that can increase her plasma bar reserve, as well as giving passive abilities such as faster flight or faster charge-up. A few can lend immense amount of plasma and a huge rate of fire at the cost of no ability to fly anymore.
Air Raider
>lot of laser or cannon call-ups now can be reloaded manually, and dont need credit points anymore
>you can now choose the location in the map (with a field view) for bombardments
>sentries dont hurt you anymore except the flamethrower sentries
<can no longer call for a vehicle right of the start of a mission
<Epsilon Railgun has been given to the Ranger, so Raider get instead a tank variant that shoot similar piercing rounds. Air Raider has no longer any bikes too although he can still ride them
>Mech suits can be piloted by anyone, even Wing Divers and Fencers
Fencer
>the speed exploit in EDF 4.1 is now part of its core gameplay in EDF5. You can now dash or boost jump (assuming you have either melee weapons and non-heavy cannons).
>Passive abilities (the Fencer can use up to 2 at once) can either grant you more dashs or boost jumps, faster movement speed, better aim for heavy weapons, no recoil from using a protect shield, shield absorbing all damage until its energy runs out, etc
