Seeing Zero and The Rathalos added as assist trophies gives me some hope for Dante, if Capcom where to add anyone else, I do think Dante would make the most logical sense, given how his fighting style fits smash easily and using Smash to get more hype for DMC5. Dante fits more so then a Resident Evil character at least.
Only thing that's off is that no DMC games are on a Nintendo system, but give that Okami was ported to Switch recently, it's not out of the realm of possibility that DMC HD and 4SE Ports could happen. Not sure about DMC5 tho, they could try the same thing they did with the RE7 cloud version I guess. Even then Cloud isn't really a character known to be on Nintendo systems much either.
But yeah I'm hoping for Dante, he does kind of have a track record of being in almost more Crossovers then his own Damn games.

Make his standard B a demon-swapping move, where after you're holding down the button, you can tap forward, down, or up to cycle between which specific demons you use for each direction, with each direction having 4 available demons, and you having to build up magnetite by beating opponents in order to swap out demons.

Mainly buff-related and debuff-related demons, like Matador. Maybe Alice, too, with a debilitate or luster candy down special and a Die For Me down smash that strikes all around The Hero and is an instakill when fully charged. In fact, give each direction at least one demon with an instakill move, given the nature of the series.
>Up direction demons
Have pixie be one of the demons here and able to carry The Hero as an up special like in the Devil Survivor animation. Give her megidolaon as an up smash.
Have an Angel be one of the up demons too and able to use some kind of Hama up smash that doesn't really do any damage but does launch the opponent really high.

They slept on tons of their IP for years without any hope of a sequel even when they were at Nintendo. People don't seem to get that Waluigi is a Mario character, not a Wario character. It's a weird distinction but makes perfect sense when you think of how Waluigi's entire history is from Mario and never not once branching out into Wario.
Waluigi may be tied to Wario but Wario is not tied to Waluigi. Anything that reference Wario is just that, a reference to Wario. If anything, the yellow and purple colors points to a Wario land or Warioware character, not Waluigi.
