>I give the story some credit (in what i've played so far) in that characters like zelos don't magically buddy up with the half elves but learn to get along with his companions through interactions with them and not just flat out "all people are good :) " but i haven't finished it yet.
A fair point Zelos will get a bit more interesting at a certain point, but only for a moment
>The temple of darkness is flat out BAD and although I don't see this being a game I replay (not that i dislike it, it's just too long for a replay)
Ah you're at that point. That and the sewer level were unnecessarily painful to go through fair warning, you're going to be dealing with much worse later on. one of the incentives of playing the game again is that you can use your completed save to replay it again with some bonuses depending on how much you complete in the game, with each playthrough giving you more and more available bonuses. May still not be worth it, but thought you'd want to know.
>It's my first tales game though and I'm definitely gonna try out a few more, not sure which to try next and due to the nature of them i'll space it out by a few months, definitely can't marathon that
Hard to say given that outside of a few, most of the Tales games aren't connected to each other other than cameos in the form of costumes and references. Best bet is to follow the golden rule of playing them in release order as best as possible.

Which girl? The Priest's/Pope's daughter? It get's even worse in that he has her researching technology powered by expsheres (which are made by sucking the lifeforce of humans like parasites in exchance for power in almost any form) and exspheres themselves. He even tried to execute her to hide the evidence.
>If the story would've annoyed me too, then good riddance.
Which is a shame because gameplay wise, it's a fun and solid game, but after learning the truth of the laws of nature and reality, it's hard to play it along with similar games due to the story being biased to one side of the argument than showing both sides.
