Do you guys know any games in which you just set the conditions for something to happen and observe the simulation play out? Maybe calling them simulations would be a better way of naming them, yet it feels right to talk about them like that.
Two of the games I especially enjoy are Galimulator and Species, one being a simulator of galactic politics and the second being a simulator of evolution. Both of these games give you the ability to interact with your environment, yet don't necessairly have a goal besides watching shit that unfold or even a failure state. It's incredibly comfy to watch those things go sometimes.

Old Mario Party games let you set all players to CPU and you can watch em play without you. Same deal with Smash Bros Meelee. Set all fighters to the computers and watch em duke it out.

Free and pretty fun evolution game that always gets posted in these threads; after about 2-4 hours you learn all the steady-state conditions the program ends up in at certain variables. Still interesting to watch it all play out.

I used to do this with Worms Armageddon. Load it up with CPU players and watch them fight it out. You had to be careful with weapon loadouts and options, because the AI was extremely stupid (yet hacker-level of accurate), but it could be entertaining. Pretty much any game with CPU player options can do this, with varying degrees of success. Worms was just a good choice because it's one of those games where crazy hilarious shit happens all the time.
But as for things that are purpose-made for something like this, all I can think of are simulators or toys, not really "games".
