Collision issues everywhere, combat is hell the moment you get hit once, story is boring, camera is really bad outside of free look. But I love the movement system, assassination kills (without animations) are satisfying, nearly every unlockable is interesting, and the level layouts offer a certain amount of brokenness that adds another layer to the game that makes it very fun to me.

Funnily enough, that H-game was my first JRPG.
It was also monstrously difficult and really put some hair on my chest. The writing was above decent but for an H-game that's really good.
The main thing was that it combined a real game with difficult puzzles, lots of exploration, tough combat and bosses and large maps and dungeons to explore/get lost in along with CGs, scenes, writing and context that was very much appealing to me, yet interesting enough to keep my interest even after I "finish".
though its pretty goddamn degenerate
Anyways Diablo 1 and Dark Souls were my absolute shit. The writing in the former is criminally underrated. It's got lovely worldbuilding, lore and character writing condensed into a small town and the labyrinths. The story is basically optional, but rich if you choose to explore it, and its not done in some tedious or gay way like dumping books on you (an occasional book or tome is fine but having that in excess ruins any interest in worldbuilding for me)
And of course the combat was immensely gratifying. I tend to love grimdark games and Diablo 1 really scratched that itch, though it terrified me as a child.

I just realized all the failed remakes and sequels soured me on River City Ransom, but that makes it even more clear that the original NES version is an all-time classic. It has yet to be equaled despite a half-dozen attempts, so its memory should be kept alive.

RCRU isn't bad, but it feels a little too different from the original. Still, a decent beatemup, retaining some of the powerup system of its progenitor. The Newer 3DS one is kinda' dull. You can't get powerups from food like you can in RCR and RCRU, which is stupid.

Shame though that this gem got forgotten. It had an interesting blend of 2 different gameplay styles that really worked well together. Shmups and top-down action adventure. A unique mashup that no other game has. It was also the only game I know besides StarTropics 2 that had an advanced NES character that could face in all 8 directions. And speaking of her, she truly is an underrated gynoid cutie. Her abilities to fight on land or transform into a fighter jet could have lead to some great gameplay in future 2D and 3D games. She honestly should have been as famous as Samus imo.

Loved the fact in FNV that I was just some random asshole, whose only goal is simple revenge and just happened to get into some freaky deaky shit all the time. Pretty refreshing from all the rpgs I played where I'm Le Chosen One XDDDDDD that was all over the place. I like it for a lot of reasons. There's a lot of variety in the levels both aesthetically and in terms of how you traverse them, it has a nice balance of creepiness & humour and the large amount of unlockable tools/weapons is a good incentive to explore each level fully. I also like how puzzle-like the bosses are and I find it impressive how well it still controls today. I love the soundtrack as well, a good OST is a huge plus for me when it comes to how much I like a certain game.

Zoo Tycoon 1 was comfy as hell. The fact that is hasn't been been rereleased is a blessing and a curse. It's good because it hasn't been tainted by Microsoft, bad because it doesn't behave well on anything newer than Win7.
You'll also have to put up with an optical drive, so if your rig doesn't have one installed or you lost the discs then you're shit out of luck
