So, Agony sucks, Doom still seems to be the one game to make hell uh… feel like hell? but that's on the action-horror aspect mostly, what kind of game would you have expected Agony to be instead of a walking simulator with a huge skill tree comprised of a whooping 3 nodes?

I don't know how to feel about the horrible female models in the game, for once, is hell, nothing is supposed to be pretty, maybe the demons, but then again, I don't think they did that on purpose, they were supposed to put emphasis on the sex stuff with the whole "Whore of Babylon" thing but I don't think it looked the part, also, I am pretty sure Satan and the beast with 7 heads are not the same thing in Revelations, turning Satan into a brute was stupid in my opinion.

the pornography in Agony was always disgusting. Also here's another good hellish game. It's an RPG where you and a party of demons combat other demons after the armageddon so you can take over the world, it's called Last Armageddon and the story, art, music is all outlandish and fantastic. The battle theme alone probably puts every other 16-bit RPG out there to shame. The story does involve Hitler too, which is a plus.

For me it would be interesting to see how some of those demons and creatures are portrayed by the game artists, it doesn't always go right though, as mentioned above, the whole beast of 7 heads turning out to be just a giant humanoid with 7 faces, also the way some creatures are supposed to be one being but still made into separate entities like Satan and Baphomet which also doesn't exactly look either unsettling or interesting (a literal goat skull head with the generic onoskellis body plus a pair of wings.)

Maybe hell is real and we're living in it. Eternal suffering loses meaning if there aren't some good things there to contrast it. So you're in a perpetual state of gaining and losing good things in your life with a large dose of uncertainty about what the fuck is going on to make you feel powerless about it. The more good you gather around you, the more you have to lose and so do the ones around you. If you lie, cheat and trample people on your way to the top, you get some meaningless material perks for being a demon and spreading suffering. Maybe when you die you're just reborn to suffer anew. What if you make Hell a shapeshifting landscape that adapts to the player's fears? Just give the player a small psych test at the start and put in a Director AI that analyzes how players react to specific phobias within the game. Like if the player reacts particularly adversely to guys with holey skin that puke constantly while in an enclosed space then the AI fits the game with more Triptophobia, Emetophobia and Claustrophobia related stuff. Then shit just starts warping like fuck just to mess with reality
