A Link Between Worlds is a solid Zelda game. The OoT and MM remakes are worth checking-out too.

Virtual Console GBA injects (they run off native hardware so they play perfectly besides not being able to go into sleep mode), GBA emulators on 3DS were still dogshit last I checked, and only work remotely-well on New models too.
Bravely Default and Bravely Second (get the Japanese version and stick a translation patch on it though).
The Kirby games are great fun, and the 3DS ones are honestly the best that have come out since Super Star and 64.
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is okay, but they're also porting/remaking the original later this year so keep an eye out for that.
Also I recently turned on my 3DS and there's apparently a new firmware update. Not going to update until I've confirmed it's safe with a Luma update and whatever, anyone know yet?

I'd still say play VLR on 3DS if that's easier for OP, the glitch only happens if you save in the PEC room during the escape, so as a safety precaution, only save outside of the escape the room puzzles and you'll be fine. Also, VLR actually uses the second screen for a twist too, the bottom screen represents Sigma's view through his robotic eye. It's another cool little hint.

Gen 7 was shit but it was certainly better than the unpolished mess that was Gen 6. The fuck is wrong with you? They actually managed to make Hoenn worse in AS/OR vs the original Gen 3 games because most of the map had to be sectioned off into load-zones and it ruined the feel of the overworld

Some DS cards came with nes/snes/gba emulators inside them, i remember buying one in 2009 or so that came with those and it was surprisingly playable (megaman zero shat itself at times but it wasn't really common), but yeah i have no idea why that idiot doesn't just install the snes9x version tailor made for O3DS and play his snes games there instead of relying on a decade old emulator from a decade old flashcart.

I didn't find a translation patch, but I did find a version with the japanese images restored. It's japanese audio/eng sub only though. The original uncensored .cias with original dual audio are lost as far as it seems.

I can vouch for MF3U.. I still play it and my wife has like 400+ hours. She was never a gamer all her life and we do that cross play feature where she plays on the Wii U and I play on the 3ds. Unfortunately this was the only title they included for both wii u and 3ds (if you wanted to play on giant screen)… they do have newer MH titles for 3ds though like MH4U and MH Generations X or something.

Alliance Alive and Legend of Legacy are both games with some interesting ideas but that are just so massively flawed that they end up being complete shit. Huge over reliance on RNG, for one thing. NSMB2 is is just more of NSMB; perhaps not awful but more dull than anything else. Never played DoAD but I find it hard to believe that the 3DS is a good platform for a non-Smash fighter. Etrian Odyssey is a must have title for the 3DS. It uses the touchscreen functionality for an integral feature map drawing and the 3d effect isn't eye-meltingly bad when at a medium setting and can be used to ballpark map drawing in more hostile floors.
But let's be real here, no one cares about 3d
Gameplay wise the games have a turn based movement and combat system and dynamic day and night cycles. Status effects also work on bosses including instant death on some unlike in many other JRPGS. It also includes a unique bind mechanic that can leave enemies or party members crippled and unable to perform moves related to the afflicted body part.
As for the games available, here's some thoughts:
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl has a nice classic campaign if you missed the first one and the Story Mode can be ignored if you so desire. The original story in Classic Mode is much more interesting anyways.
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Fafnir Knight has a worse Story Mode than EOU but still has Heroes of Lagaard's good Classic Mode, so it's worth a try if you missed EO2.

Etrian Odyssey 4 is a bit of an oddball in the series with its globe-trotting but is well worth it. It has one of the best soundtracks in the series. No on-board FM soundtrack unfortunately.
Etrian Odyssey 5 is a good game so far, I've gotten to the 10th floor and am getting railed by the Hippogryph I fucking hate the panic status but it's a great title that lives up to its predecessors. More complete voice acting is a feature for both NPCs and your party members but it can be turned off if you so desire. It does have an FM soundtrack, but you have to buy it fucking really Fatlus?.
Unless you're new to the series, play the games on the "Advanced" difficulty for a more authentic experience. You too will know the hell that is the Venomfly.
