I sure love a character that completely replaced every possible interaction with Flowey. It's not like Toby was a hack and didn't know how to write an engaging story without text dumps and le epic plot twists instead of giving us more time with one of the best fucking parts of the demo. Most of the supporting characters are just plot devices along your journey. Even Sans is more of your ferryman than anything. The royal family and the mystery around them is all part of the central plot. That is why the characters in it have depth.
Alphys the dykelizzard was dumb but even that character mostly exists to explain Mettaton and the research on the SOUL and determination.

Even then, toby found a way to fuck over the few characters that he actually gave depth with toriel just abandoning her people in a trying time because her husband made a difficult decision in a trying time then playing it off as if she was in the right, and having Flowey be gimped so damn hard he's relegated to rng events where you can see him behind you and the finales. That power, instead, going to tumblr pandering bullshit because he wrote himself into a corner. Why waste something you've already made like that, and why waste gameplay opportunity for punus?
With the walking trashcan, it's just plain insulting though. You're presented at first with a shit character and the only draw it has is "le epic anime reference XD" then when you find out what fucking crimes she committed and her reasons for covering them up you're not given choice in the matter and must forgive her to proceed. Don't really agree with this, though. She doesn't really appear to have the seat of power and she had a point about Asgore's powerlust/bloodlust/cowardice. She gave up on humanity to read books and silently ree about normalfags. If nothing else her motivations are pretty solidly fleshed out.

That's not in the game, and you would know where Flowey came from if you completed true pacifist like you're saying.
Even if you didn't complete it, you should know about the spot where he died and that when monsters die and their ashes are spread on something that they live out their afterlife in that object. Going through the true lab, it's shown that she injected the flower that Asriels dust landed on with determination from the determination machine, thus reviving him minus a soul.
Chara is a complete fucking mystery though. Nothing says where he came from during your game, but there's a text dump that explains how he got there before he died and how important he was.

Asriel with Chara's soul died in that garden where you fight Asgore. Asriel's magicdust gets into the flowers. When Alphys took a flower and injected "determination" I can't believe this game has ruined a whole word for me it reawakened Asriel's scattered soul inside it. Chara's physical body was left over from when he killed himself, and Toriel took that with her and buried him at the starting era of the game where… I don't know, somehow he comes back as a ghost in your head or something, that part was never explained because Toby is a fucking hack.
