Neverwinter Nights has some very good custom modules. All the custom content I've played has much better stories than the official campaign. The module "A Dance with Rogues" has tons of explicit rapey content to fap to.

The two expansion packs are okay and are meant to be played as one continual story. Start with SoU and then continue with HotU. I think some of the premium modules are alright too, but it was so long since I played them I forget which ones are good and which ones are crap.

See my previous post. But the user made content definitely makes it worth installing. If you like old school isometric RPGs then I must recommend you Geneforge. Also, if you haven't already played Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate (the unkiked versions) you should give them a go too.

Well, then let me add Arcanum to that pile of recommendations if you haven't already played it.

Also it should be added that the three Infinity Engine games/series cater to three different aspects. If you liked the words words words of Pillars but wish it was well written and actually interesting then Planescape Torment is your game. If you liked the combat but wish it was more satisfying and challenging then Icewind Dale is for you. If you liked the game in general then Baldur's Gate is pretty much more of the same, it was made by Bioware before they were eaten by EA and turned into a garbage studio.

And stay away from the Beamshit "enhanced" versions if you know what's good for you. They ruin much more than they improve, especially the Baldur's Gate one that shat the bed hard.

I recommend checking out some multiplayer servers. Sadly, most of them switched to the enhanced edition by (((Beamdog))) (sinfar being one of a few exceptions I think). NWN multiplayer persistent worlds are a very unique niche of a surprising quality, haven't managed to find anything similar in style in any other game. Many of the servers have their own haks, so gameplay and visuals are substantially different from the base game and single player modules. IMO it's the best this game has to offer at this point.

According to nwnlist.com there's around 400-500 active players, which is a stable count, haven't noticed any change caused by EE.

A Dance with Rogues is actually a good rogue module. All the explicit sexual content is cringe as fuck, but the rogue gameplay is really good. If you can ignore the rape fantasy shit, it's actually a good experience.

The game requires a bunch of troubleshooting compared to Neverwinter Nights 2. As for the second game only 1 campaign is worth anything the rest of the appeal comes from Mods.
