quake champions is free on steam, but its a shitty version with huge grinding required to unlock the characters. Characters, with moba style abilities, in an arena FPS. (lol)
if you download it and play for 5 minutes you can enjoy leaving the review it deserves. By far the most enjoyment i've gotten out of this pile of shit.

The netcode is terrible, second only in shitness to Tarkov. There are very few other games post the Half-Life 1 advances which have worse netcode. It's something they'll never fix because they have no programmers on staff and whoever coded it originally doesn't understand even the most basic concepts of client-side prediction. If you don't believe me, see for yourself, although I highly discourage that.

At this point the netcode is literally twenty years behind the rest of the industry. Insane, but true.
It's so bad that it's essentially client-side authoritative for the most laggy players. The more you lag the better off you are. The devs lie and distract with talk of hit boxes but the real truth is the original netcode design is backwards from what it should be. Just like Tarkov the fanboys strategically ignore the real issues because the obvious implication is they'll need to switch engines to make it playable.
Battle(non)sense did a video about it but he only partially touches on how bad it is. Maybe he overemphasises trying to be fair or even handed or is missing the technical problems at hand. It's a dead game and a dead project and I think the devs, shills and fanboys all know it.

For me it went like this:

Yes because you won against mediocre players and lost against better ones. Thats how ranked works, the reason you lost 43 points is because you lost against someone with a considerably lower elo and why you only get 8 for stomping shitters. If you say won against a gold you'd be getting +40 points. Thus you remain a silver shitter.

Its like you never played anything outside UT and Quake. Almost every game boots you out in 15 minutes. Its just the difference is that in normal game when match ends you quickly connect to another match or next map cycles on the server. In Quake Champions you need to matchmake all over again for 15 minute match, and sometimes it can glitch out.

Here is my review from back then
1. Its basicly Overwatch with bad Quake skin, old Quake 3 characters look nothing like themselves and idiots from Bethesda even added dumb shit like Blowjob guy from Wolfenstein and other nonsense
2. Optimisation is beyond horrible, random FPS drops on elevated levels , fake lag that slows down game so even the Overwatch 12 year old players can play it and "enjoy it"
3. Game is just another attempt to cash in on the Overwatch crowd and nothing else.

The tutorial enemy was noclipping through the map so I couldn't kill the fucker
Everyone in the map just ran around like it was COD so I was able to just move through and collect items
I only got 6 kills when I thought I was racking them up, so either my teammates were stealing all my kills or the server was fucking me when I was on motherfuckers asses and laying into them
