I did that in Forza 4 and got bored because shaving seconds doesn't fucking matter since I'm never gonna be at the top of the leaderboard ruled by autistic japanese kids. What's the difference between Rank 52,600 and Rank 52,500? Who cares? I play driving games to drive cars I'll never own and listen to their engine notes with my surround sound turned up, and it's much more fun cruising around in Horizon looking at scenery than punishing myself on a sterile track in the sim-tier games.

I have a shitty computer so I haven't been able to play racing games newer than ~2009 (that I was actually interested, of course), so the last time I experienced this was with CMR05.

honestly this is the only game im going to buy at launch this year considering how much i liked fh3 and how much i've played it (overall completion 100%).

My one little glimmer of hope this year was maybe horizon 4 would finally be in Japan and I could slightly scratch that itch for WANGIN and TOEGAY that genki will never give me again. Of course I am let down with the low effort setting of bongistan and the cheap gimmick of changing seasons instead of anything meaningful. I could already tell the engine noises will still be shit from the god awful RB26 noise from the S14. They won't fix anything because they haven't since 4. They WILL make it worse by shoving in as much soul sucking money grabbing bullshit as possible. I feel like nothing can sooth my car autism anymore so I'm just going to save up and buy a real damn car now and make some real memories instead of enabling these vidya jews and making myself miserable and unsatisfied. Besides when cyberpunk comes out in 59 years I won't bother with vidya anymore. Meet me on the highway.

My bad. You are right on that. All of my points still stand though. Horizon 4 looks like it has less put into it then the expansions for 3. I know my standards for car games like this have become almost unreasonably high. I basically want to experience my complete automotive fantasy through it. I think it's really just all the small details that go unchanged that start eating away at the experience. That and the base of the game being shot on in the name of monetization shit and less effort for more profit. I think I'm better off spending thousands to get a real experience than give these fucks $100.
