from what i can tell, natural armor is a value damage gets multiplied by after calculations, and is always 1 or below

0.5 means half damage, 0.1 means 10% damage, and so on

the troll king has a natural armor of 0.02, meaning he takes 2% of the damage you'd normally deal from all attacks, and nearly every creature with an armor under 0.1 is basically unkillable on a low server population

I've been playing on mythmoor cause it seemed fine at first but it just keeps getting worse and worse the more you look at it. This Xype guy is a real fucking character for example. If you have 8GBs of RAM or more you can do it all without touching your hard drive with a LiveCD https://ubuntu-mate.org/download/.

They store things into memory so people can try them out without installing. If you have 4GBs you'll have to cut the file from steam and paste it in your hard drive because otherwise you'll run out of memory compressing to a new file. And if you have 2GBs you'll have to use a less user-friendly distro that won't occupy as much memory, and then 1GB of RAM isn't enough to download the game without a install.

if the original 1 in 86400 means randomly, averaging once every 24 hours, then the default frequency of 60 is already set to 1 copper every minute if 1 money is 1 copper in wurm. money is a long value, so I assume so. Unless there were iron coins, if so, it is receiving 1 iron per minute

Just a reminder that I've placed the spawns in generally sub optimal area's to set up, there's enough wood to build a boat and coalburn yourself some tar. And that's what you're supposed to do.

In your groups when you get in game pick out a spot you think would be ideal to settle in, then sail there, enjoy the water highway, i've tried to make it as interesting an experience as possible.

Carting around however from what I can tell is going to be a bit mundane, that's my fault for not realizing just how fucking huge my beautiful rolling plains would be, some are substantially larger than the fucking previous map we were using.

On the plus side this means people won't be able to point out small, or even large settlements out from anywhere on the map, you generally have to do some traveling to cause trouble, which was my intention.

Elaborate spawns are fine as long as the building aren't too huge. They should be big enough to look like an actual town or castle but they shouldn't be more impressive than what players will make when they get decent skills. quick note as im finishing it all up, sindusk assumes everyone should use his taste of wurm variables so i reverted the armor values back to standard

turning off AoSP working on shields

leaving WoA and BotD working on shields (higher casts should"block more attacks per round in combat" to give shieldshitters a way to play against the DOOL WEELD chad users)

rare weapons reduce swing timers by a small amount, just enough to be usefull, but you can get by justfine without it anyways

and regarding weapon balance, most weapons will be outputting roughly similar damage per minute, 2handers will have aggressive mode to make it a bit higher, one thing i want to specifically call out is no more skill penalties, except on huge shod club for reason, and metal spear will be the equivalent of halberd but pointy, and wood spear will do less damage but swing faster to differentiate it from the metal spear instead of just being a worse spear

with all the new metal properties and with all weapons being roughly equal (minus artifacts) i expect you all to actually have more variety than just pl8, med maul, med shield (that got assblasted by a shitter in studded anyways)

I've never been the most experienced Wurm player but it's always an equal combination of a high amount of both. Some of the most fun I've had in this game was the first private /v/ serb I ever played. Our settlement got surrounded by a shit load of trolls due to a server reset respawning a bunch of mobs. Making a mod is probably one of the best ways to learn how to code, there is tons of examples, you have a clear objective and it's easy to see if you got the results you wanted or not. The downside is having to read someone's else code

About learning Java, what's a class, method, variable. Setting up Eclipse, Decompiling code, all of these things you will have to google

But if it's how to make a mod I could bother myself for a small explanation (more like a overview on how it works)

First you have to accept that some magic happens under the hood, only the guy who made the mod loader knows how it really works, because nobody needs to know how the mod loader works to use the mod loader, so nobody tries to figure it out.

Actually making the mod:

1: Figure out what you want to change in the game

2: Read wurm's code and figure out what you will change and where, keep to a bare minimum or it gets out of hand fast

3: Get a javassist reference to the class and the method

4: Inject your code through hooks, addBefore, addAfter or whatever other mean you like, gotta research how javassist works or read other mods sources

4.a) To keep it simple, the injected code will just call methods on your class, you want to get as much code running in your own class, so it's easier to manage, but not required at all

4.obs) Check ImprovedImprove source code for a example of a mod almost impossible to read, the whole code is written in strings

5) Package and put it to run in the server/client, follow the modloader website instructions

As long as they're not leading trains of 70 FS bots to you it's not going to be a problem. And don't worry about bots the clients are too laggy to broadcast commands to every character without it lagging or desyncing. this method is called for all creatures

1) the first If checks if aThis is a fog spider.

2) the second if checks if the setting is 1, if it is, the fog spider hates everything including it's babies, therefore return true immediately, the rest of the method is ignored as a consequence of the return statement

livemap gives you a minimap, compass means you don't have to wait 10 seconds to see which direction you're facing and gives you your coordinate position which is helpful as fuck for navigating, and improved improve lets you imp with items on your toolbelt without having to activate them
